i’ll be staying at the Loews Hotel Philadelphia Saturday night, getting into town Sat. AM.
see you at the bar !
April 15, 2003 at 11:43 am #91389Likeaghost, just let me know (whenever) if you can make it, it doen’t seem like anyone else is riding along, and I can’t find anyone around here to go. Closer to the 26th I’ll know for sure what time I will be meeting up with the sawyer in Lebanon county.
I thought this pitstop would seal the deal for any riders….especially since I want to talk shop for a while when I’m there. Two minutes into talking about the lumber/timber industry to any of my friends or relatives and they’re yawning to beat all hell.
April 24, 2003 at 9:17 am #91390starting to get a little stoked about this show.
if anyone from out of town is going and is totally wasted afterwards, i dont see a problem with anyone crashing with me at the loews.
it will be green minded.

Have to say thanks for the good time.

they played Alone. Out There. i think they played Budge and No Bones.. j had his rolling stone tshirt on. it was pretty cool. I was completely off my rocker, and i am paying for it this evening.
April 28, 2003 at 4:37 am #91393i would so love to hear j and the guys play out there … anthony, you’re a lucky man !

j please come over to europe …. pleeeeeeeease
April 28, 2003 at 1:01 pm #91394Anthony, I didn’t get your email before I left the house, so I didn’t know who to look for….maybe next time. I got into a serious BS session at the sawmill and didn’t get to the northstar until nine. Would you believe there was a parking spot right out front by the parking lot? We were on our second beer when we heard some loud thumpin’ from the other room and decided to go over even though it was only a little after ten. There was J bustin’ out Alone…I hope that was the first song. They played a lot of older stuff Saturday, which totally rocked….I was blown away when they went into Kracked. And of course they played Sludgefeast

Not nearly as many people there as I expected, but glad to hear lots of old old stuff mixed in with the new. Definitely worth the two month wait.
Got myself a T-shirt too
April 28, 2003 at 2:37 pm #91395hey anthony, cool ticket

In Brooklyn they also started with ‘Alone’, guess you didn’t miss something.April 28, 2003 at 3:18 pm #91396george, matt and J signed it

did anyone get the setlist down, or was everyone too wasted?

i gave my email to this girl who was taking a ton of pics right in the front, hopefully we’ll see them.
April 28, 2003 at 4:41 pm #91397anthony, were you the one with the glasses standing next to my friend and i all night constantly asking her to take different photos? i was able to interview him and she was taking the photos for the magazine so i’m not sure how much of them you’ll be seeing. i was also able to get the set list, it is as follows:
Alone
No Bones
Freedom
Out There
Tell the Truth
Fury
Set Us Free
Same Day
Amma Ring
Kracked
Everybody Lets…
Sludgefeast
If That’s How
Freakscene
Heaven (Cure cover)i’d also like to thank the tall guy (maybe 6’1+) wearing the Dinosaur Jr. shirt who tried to grab the set list from me (girl, 5’4) after i had asked George for it.
April 29, 2003 at 6:32 am #91398it looked like she was taking some righteous shots of j during alone. thats why i was interested in obtaining them.
whats the name of the magazine ?
April 29, 2003 at 9:57 am #91399Thanks for the setlist Vinyl Geek, hope the interview went well  Interested in knowing the name of the mag as well, we could include it in out next newsletter for people to check out.
Shame about someone trying to make off with that list…not nice

Allison
April 29, 2003 at 3:06 pm #91400hey vinyl geek, sounds like interview/pics went as planned

cool chance of promoting the issue of the magazine with the J interview here –
… I’d love to read that & see the pics your friend made
:aliensmile:but yeah, that wasn’t cool to try & take away the set list from you

thanks for posting it here
April 30, 2003 at 12:23 pm #91401i taped a bit of the show. i know i didn’t get all of it cos my batt died somewhere towards the end. once i get everything to the comp i’ll post it and let everybody know. sounds good from what i’ve heard so far. i’ve had a hole in me for so long now, for something that rockin. j definitely filled that gap. THANK YOU!
April 30, 2003 at 1:25 pm #91402hey jlurgee, very cool to hear that you managed to record parts of the show!

we’re always into listening to new recordings of different J Mascis/ J & the Fog shows shows
… there there are some nice possibilities to upload & share recordings with those who weren’t that lucky to see them live … there are FTP servers to upload recordings, or you can get in contact with anthony, who runs FreeSoFree.net & shares a lot of Dino/ J shows there
