Germany isn’t interrested to go to war
April 2, 2003 at 4:47 pm #92814…and next Tuesday Calexico will play Berlin’s Columbiahalle, which is about 6 times as big as the Columbiafritz in the same city, where on the same day the Bangles will be ‘walking like an egyptian’…(guess where I’ll be on that night – and you’ll probably be wrong!)
April 2, 2003 at 4:50 pm #92815Well, maybe it’s not exactly 6 times bigger, but it’s definitely much bigger. And what I also forgot to say is: In my opinion every halfway thinking person should be interested in keeping anybody from going to war! Ain’t that so?
April 2, 2003 at 10:57 pm #92816That definitely is so , Pelt. That’s why I found the quote by the Marine reservist who now claims to be a concientious objector so damn funny. He said of the Marines: "They don’t really advertise that they kill people." Hey, you fucking moron! That’s precisely why they get stupid as shit people like you to join!
April 4, 2003 at 11:04 am #92817Exactly! And a lot of the things that flurr and fly by in the media right now would almost seem funny in a grotesque way, if what’s going on wasn’t so extremely sad. To built a bridge back to Freakscene.net: I did an interview w/ J some time ago (last September) and was really happy (although that word seems almost macabre in those circumstances) that – contrary to the popular view that he’s an "inarticulate egocentric"* – he said a lot of really interesting things about Bush and the "warhungry" american public, proving holders of above view * definitely wrong! He obviously was concerned with what’s going on and cared about it (which might not be real news to frequent Freaksceners, but I can’t really recall too many interviews w/ him that I’ve read in which he talked or was asked about such things, so I was a little conscious about that "topic", and eventually he was the one who started talking about it! – I asked him if his accident had changed his life much, and he said that Sept. 11th was more lifealtering to him, so there.)
April 4, 2003 at 2:28 pm #92818hey Pelt Sematary, really cool to read about the interview you did with J last year
is it maybe published anywhere?J talked quite often about his doubts concerning the increasing partiotism after 09/11, while the government is cutting down freedom in several ways, and that he feels kinda claustrophobic about it. As he continuously mentioned these things in the interviews of last year, this topic seems to be very important for him – and the current ongoings unfortunately prove that he is right to take it seriously
April 4, 2003 at 6:55 pm #92819Hi FC!
Well, it actually was published in the November edition of a Berlin based (but now germany-wide distributed) mag called "Uncle Sally*s".
Normally it is also available on the website (http://www.sallys.net”>http://www.sallys.net), which for some or the other reason I don’t unfortunately understand is "down" at the moment. There was a pretty cool & exclusive pic with the story, too – but, alas, at the moment it’s not possible to visit the website (properly). The whole thing was in German anyway… I guess they still have backissues?April 5, 2003 at 1:22 pm #92820hey, very interesting facts about the J interview

Too bad the site is down, hope they’ll fix it soon, I’d really like to take a look
