All jokig aside though, quit it. Other then getting into the mod/admin forum, which odds are doesn’t have much of anything, there’s no advantages and not much you do really [and I speak from experience]. No disrespect to anyone in particular but admin/moding on a BBS is absolutely no fun. No fun at all. Unless perhaps the artist/band posts and you get to see that first. I seriously doubt that Jeremiah is sitting aorund with the next Fog album, and if so, something tells me he wouldn’t share it with the other mods and not the general members of the board. Wanting, indeed, actually desiring to be a mod is sort of like wanting to have a sixth finger. Other then when people go "OMIGOSH! A 6th finger" it really doesn’t hurt/better you at all. What does a mod do? Uh, they move posts. They can see someones IP addy. Is that really going to make the board mor enjoyable for you? Doubtful. [img]images/smiles/converted/rolleyes.gif[/img]
And another thing [this post is getting more 2nd looks then J. Lo at the Grammy’s], a mod should not be chosen by someone going, "Well shucks, I wanna be one," in my experience. One should be a noted member of the board, knowledgable, experienced, HELPFUL TO NEWBIES, friendly, and in the wrong place at the wrong time. Following those is the true way to achieve modship.

Speak for yourself please, I have a lot of fun doing the little that I do on this site…may be sad according to you but hey it is my perception of things that count for me.
You are making a lot of assumptions about people you don’t even know…Jeremiah for example…showing how little you know about him with the not sharing thing. Those that were around for that preview of More Light will know what I’m talking about.
Your experience inside and outside the mod deal is definitely different than mine…thankfully. While the mod title may seem silly and useless to you which is absolutely fine…I am more than happy to help Jeremiah and Saturnine and all the other mods/members in whatever way I can.

I know you are new around here but did you know we had More Light up on the site over 6 months before the release?
You would be suprised at some of the things that go on with this site that you have no idea about.
also, I seem to remember you attempting to run a scam sometime back requesting power for another account (which you owned). Although it was said in jest, you really have to wonder why you even brought it up. Not to mention why you even started this thread?

On another message board I was on, this sort of thing started and it became this long running thing… daily "I wanna be an admin posts" and such. It was totally ridiculous, and really detracted from the fun of the site. My initial thread was not to try and desuade ones from wanting to be such, but simply hoping it doesn’t turn into a big competitive whatnot as I’ve seen before. I think Freakscene is a bit above that, but I worry sometimes.

I wasn’t accusing you of choosing them any other way, I was just saying people adding "mod candidate" or posting their desire to be a mid wasn’t going to sway anyone’s opinion.

I did not mean to say being a mod or admin is a horrible thing. Not at all. It may even be construed by some to be fun. But it’s not something to get in a tizzy about. It’s not a badge of honor. It will not make you more attractive to women (or men, if that’s your preference), get you into swanky nightclubs, or get you a better phone a friend for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire…. *rambles on incoherently for 15 minutes*
Like I said try that brain floss thing..your not making a lot of sense at all. You can spin it whatever way you want but I think you should read your initial post again. I do not believe any of the mods/admins feel they deserve any kind of extra special regard etc etc. You made some assumptions about people you know pretty much zippo about, and what seemed like judgements to me. The big sea monkey and many of the other admins/mods share a lot of their time putting this site together for all to enjoy…outside of their busy work and personal lives. The ftp sites are an example, providing the opportunity for all to share…the updates from J and George…I could go on but really can’t see the point anymore.
Like I said your experience is definitely different than mine thankfully, and apparently a lot of other things about us are galaxies apart as well… [img]images/smiles/converted/rolleyes.gif[/img]
