so, ok, that comes out different there.
but, they still were meaning Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens, and the article only explains, why they let him enter the plane? or do I get it wrong?
September 26, 2004 at 4:35 pm #105091nope, they were meaning a Youssouf Islam, not Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens.
September 26, 2004 at 4:52 pm #105092still not sure. … if you re-read it, it says
Quote:there is no Yusuf Islam on the no-fly registry, though there is a "Youssouf Islam."
The incorrect name was added to the register this summer, but because Islam’s name is spelled "Yusuf" on his British passport, he was allowed to board a plane in London bound for the U.S.and further
Quote:The Transportation Safety Administration alleges that Islam has links to terrorist groups, which he has deniedso, this only says, they spelled Yusuf Islam’s/Cat Steven’s name incorrectly on the list, and that’s why they didn’t stop him in London from getting on the plane.
I looked around further, and all news entries go like the above, but there is no news yet to find about that it all was just an error and they didn’t mean Yusuf Islam/Cat Stevens.
September 26, 2004 at 5:06 pm #105093Oh ok, I misunderstood it then. I thought they were after a Youssouf, not a Yusuf.
I’m looking forward to hearing more about this
September 27, 2004 at 8:09 am #105094Cat Stevens did a new version of father & son with Ronan Keating…

I’m not saying that it’s ok to support a fatwa, but I don’t think he should be denied access to a country for having said it.no, i don’t think he should have been denied access to the US, but i do think he should be more careful when he expresses his opinions in public !

that is true. especially with how things are in the western world now. I think occurences like this will be numeral in the years to come. so being overly diplomatic when talking in public might be the safest way to avoid hassle.
