Hello there,
me and my gf is thinking about going to the upcoming concert at Dingwalls in London. we need a not-too-expensive place to stay. any londoners here who knows about good/ok hotels in the camden area? / central london.
stupid q: how long will it take to walk from camden lock to oxford street?
we are london-newbies <img>
cheers,
cervezaNovember 4, 2002 at 5:03 pm #63044hola cerveza …
camden lock to oxford st would probably take about 1/2 an hour to walk … if you really pushed it, maybe faster … you could take the scenic route thru regents park …
but there’s always the bus or tube …
as far as hotels go, it really depends on what you think is cheap … an average london hotel is about 85gbp per room per night … and that doesn’t usually include a breakfast …
if you’re coming all the way from norway can’t you get a package deal with flights, transfers and hotel all in one ?? …

I stayed in Earls Court when I was in London, relatively cheap… cheap hotels

November 6, 2002 at 12:24 pm #63046thanks alot for answers !
Ryanair was marketing for almost-free tickets this last weekend.. but it was just bs. no discount tickets available at their website. dang they suck (at least their web do..).
we just got the news that J will come up here in december, so we’ll save our money and instead visit london abit later, when we got more time to see the city.
thx again,
sc
November 7, 2002 at 5:45 pm #63047the thing about ryanair is that they only have about 2 seats or so on any given flight at the super-cheap one pound fare (or whatever the equivalent may be) and it only goes up and up from there … they can be a lot more expensive than more respected scheduled carriers …
with all these discounted airlines they key is booking your seats as soon as they are released for sale … for example we got a 20 pound return fare to lubeck (germany) a few years ago, but we booked our tix waaaaayy in advance …
anyhow … i’m glad he rescheduled the date (s) closer to your home …
and yes … save your money … you’ll need it for xmas …
November 11, 2002 at 9:16 am #63048I havent been back to dingwalls since i was 17 year old punk in 1977… but here we go
£12.99!!! I think I paid £6 to see J in oxford street last month
I hope dingwalls has a new layout since 1977. Only the front few people could ever see anything, everyone else got to look at iron poles holding the roof up
