This town is full of Prince Edward Islanders who run the NHL team here. I love hearing canucks say ‘Out’ and ‘Against’.

I’ve heard people compare Columbus to Canada. I think it’s kinda spooky. We do have lots of ice hockey rinks and we have weird accents.

I have a friend who moved to Sask from PEI. we made fun of the way he said "house" and "out". Since he was from charlottetown and must have said it all the time it came out like "Sharltown".

There are 10 provinces (for sure) and 3 territories (last I checked).

For you US people what’s up with Washington, D.C. what is the point of D.C.???

What’s up with Puerto Rico? it’s not a state but you own it right

DC is to ensure that no state rules the US. It was started because at the formation of our country the states were, in effect independent nations under one loose government. Thus, DC was a sort of neutral territory.

Puerto Rico is one of several plots of land, I want to call them principalities, that we own but don’t consider states, the people who live on these areas have all the rights of citizens except the right to vote. Although I’m not certain about issues such as taxation or conscription.

Puerto Rico gets asked to become a state every decade or so, and every decade or so it decides to remain as it is.

The North thing is confusing but I think the Yukon and the Northwest Territories are still separate, parts of the NWT have become new territories a few years back.

To those that missed the class 10 provinces & 3 territories (Yukon, NWT & Nunavut)

To the guy who likes to say ‘Nordiques’ Columbus compared to Canada, I’ve never heard that before…definitely strange. Even with the hockey rinks & weird accents

Also, Congress is officially in charge of the running of DC, so if DC was a state, since all the Congress members live there, it would probably get special treatment.

Plus the reasons, Malcolm brought out.

Actually, DC was not formed right when the United States was formed. The whole time old George Washington was President, the capital was New York.

That is correct. NYC and Philly both served time as US capitol.

so DC is like vatican city. The pope has his own little country so that god doesn’t favor one country.

DC is not like the Vatican City. It is not its own country and it is not run by corrupt religious figures. It’s just run by corrupt politicians.

But yeah, it is like it in that other way.
