^ That’d be the man
July 21, 2005 at 2:15 pm #110857its like, i am excited for the dvd. but i allways hype myself up for a dvd, and when it comes out im ussually disapointed for the most point.
not saying that this will be the case, im just scared cause i was really excited to videotape mad shows and make dvd’s of this tour, and im not sure if the dvdcapture the tour good enough for me. hopefully ill be proved wrong. maybe im an asshole for saying that cause j letting us tape his shows all these years is a priveledge not a right, and i respect that but i guess im just too used to it and im scared of letting the memories fade away.
July 21, 2005 at 8:27 pm #110858unless i was really fucked up(i dont think i was) i couldve sworn i saw more than a few people taping in the crowd in atlanta. i think people are taping. i think maybe they are waiting til after the dvd comes out as to not piss off the boys.
July 21, 2005 at 9:14 pm #110859could be. i just really want a little full show video documentation.
July 29, 2005 at 11:30 am #110860Cool, i can’t wait to buy it.
August 17, 2005 at 10:27 am #110861pardon my ignance, but how did we get from ‘video taping not allowed’ to ‘dvd coming out soon’? all i saw being filmed was j’s brother in law walking around with a camcorder.
thanks
crAugust 17, 2005 at 11:02 am #110862yeah at the 5 shows i saw he only taped a few songs at each, and at some shows not at all. Â i wonder if there was proffesional audio going down for that? im still ticked that i couldnt tape man haha i was front row at every show and it was just in the back of my head getting to me that for the first time ever (at a J mascis/dinosaur show) i couldnt be saving the moment with my camera.
but the shows rocked and i got no complaints. Â so many mountain mans. Â that was enough to let me die happy.

crHere’s the info we have on the dvd…
FREAKSCENE – Dinosaur Jr./J Mascis documentary" 2005 (cinema/DVD production)
on the occasion of the Dinosaur Jr reunion tour in summer 2005 (Europe/USA/Japan), there will be produced a documentary about J Mascis and Dinosaur Jr.
The film contains material out of the J Mascis/ Dinosaur Jr archives (live shows, music, interviews, etc) from the 80’s and 90’s, and also new material from the upcoming world tour with live cuts and interviews.the shootings will be started at the legendary Forum in London, where the band will be play at two sold out shows. Further the Gold team will accompany the tour through Holland, Germany and the USA.
came from this thread, no release date yet that we know of, hopefully soon!
The quote below is at the top of this thread, it’s Dino’s management request about no filming as they plan on taping the shows for the DVD…
"Dinosaur Jr " wrote:Dinosaur Jr happily invites fans to create audio tapes of their live performances as long as the venue allows for this. We are asking that fans please refrain from shooting video of these reunion performances as we are preparing a special DVD which will include footage from this tour.
Thanks for understanding.
