I’ve owned all of Dinosaur Jr’s albums since "Where You Been" was released in 1993 except for the "Dinosaur" 1985 album, I purchased it yesterday, so I now own the complete Dinosaur Jr album collection !

I was expecting J would sing all of the songs on the album excpt for maybe 1 or 2 songs from Lou, but now I know J only sings lead vocals in :
      The Leper
      Repulsion
      Severed Lips
Bulbs Of Passion (if you count that as an album track)

Are all of the other songs sung by Lou on lead vocals? (they don’t all sound like him to me).
Does Murph sing lead vocals in any of the songs ?

I’m having a bit of difficulty deciding if all of the songs which are not J are sung by Lou, because some of the songs don’t sound like Lou to me….

Could someone please clear up from me who the actual lead vocalist / backing vocalist on each song is ?

      Thanks !

      – It feels very different listening to Dinosaur Jr with so much bass !

I’m pretty sure Lou sings lead on Forget the Swan (except for the bridge, which is J), most of Cats In a Bowl except for the hoedown part at the end, all of Does It Float, the "I’m starving" part of Pointless, the verses and "the <<something>>’s escaping" part of each chorus in Gargoyle, and all of Mountain Man (J joins him on the choruses).

However, while on Mountain Man Lou sings the entire thing live, the first four lines sound like someone else on the album…that might be Murph.

J sings on the chorus to Mountain Man live.

I think they both sing during the chorus when they play it live.
