does anyone know what wah pedal J uses? it doesn’t even have to be the exact one, i’m just looking for a good wah pedal that makes sounds from songs like Little Fury Things and Kracked.
the Snarling Dog wah pedals look good. any suggestions ??
March 7, 2006 at 5:54 pm #115094I think J used a modified Roger Mayer Wah. I have a Morely II Wah and I can get pretty much the same sound.

but unfortuately have not had time to play around with it yet……March 8, 2006 at 12:16 pm #115098I’m hoping to get a decent wah pedal soon, I’ve got a fender cyber twin with this massive pedal tht switches between all the presets and your own sounds but the wah isn’t amazing (could just be me being crap at figuring out how to use the amp) and I’d really like something like the kracked sound…. such an amazing solo
March 8, 2006 at 1:43 pm #115099I never find myself using wah alot when I play my owns songs. I’ll use it for noise freakouts and stuff but other then that I don’t use it a whole lot.

Me and my friends usually get really stoned every weekend and thats when I use wah the most, just trying to make really fucked up music. I like playin solos with wah though but the songs I write don’t really have wah in them
March 8, 2006 at 2:35 pm #115101i’d use it for noise/feedback.
March 8, 2006 at 8:01 pm #115102It’s great for that. http://www.myspace.com/craignorthrop <– That’s a weird ‘band’ im in with this kid outside of my ‘real’ band. There’s some wah action in the 3rd song, if you wanna see what my wah sounds like. The recording doesn’t do justice to the real thing though. It sounds like thousands of people screaming in unison.
March 9, 2006 at 1:05 pm #115103That stuffs really cool….. love the Dammit cover

You got any of your ‘real’ band’s stuff on the net?
What are you recording with? I want something to be able to record stuff like that and my ‘real’ songs too, then I could contribute to the dino tribute effort. Can you recommend anything Sam?
March 9, 2006 at 1:37 pm #115104I’ll post some of my band’s stuff at some point, we’re still recording our songs…should be done in a week or so.
Recording wise, I use mics (micing the bass, guitar, drums) into a 16 track mixing console (that we bought off our friend’s church for $100…it’s pretty old) into the computer, where we record on Acid. To get it from the board to the computer we just plug a 1/4 inch cable into the master out of the mixer then plug a 1/8 adaptor into the other end and plug it into the computer’s sound card. If you do it right you can get a pretty good sound.
If you want more details (or want me to send you Acid…I have a pirated version) you can IM me (samsthescapegoat) or email me at lookitssam@gmail.com
March 10, 2006 at 12:24 pm #115105Appriciate the help Sam….. I think it would be best for me to actually get an 8 track or something first before getting software an stuff, thanks for the offer. I’m gonna need to save up again cos I’ve just bought a new amp so I’m broke at the moment, think I’ll search on ebay for something cheap.
Lookin forward to hearing your band, you gonna put your dino cover on the net too?
