webpage provider/host domain registering help!!

hey. i really need help. i am looking to start a webpage for my bros indie label called biege coat records, and i want to set up a webpage. i dont exactly know how it all works and i need help. what kinda host do i get and whats it all about? can i just ,ake a webpage on my comp and upload it onto the server. and all that stuff. and if anyone knows where a good host is. with good deals and stuff, i would be much appreciated. thanks. james.
