Hey,

Went to a show last nite and ran into a girl who used to drum in a group I was in. Kinda cool to see her, she had the most awful story to tell about a freak accident she had…it goes like this.

She played a show and moved her drums back to her place and was in a hurry to get back to the club. She put the stuff in a room, thought about leaving a lite on but didn’t. Forgot something and ran back into the room to pick it up, tripped, fell forward and impaled her eye socket on her cymbal stand OMFG was the 1st thing I said when I heard that story…ick. She pulled out the stand, covered in blood walked to the nearest emergency room a couple blocks away (she is one tough woman…body builder now as well as a drummer). End result is she can still see but is numb along a patch above her eye across the top of her head and down the back…calls herself numbskull now…OMFG that story creeped me out in a huge way.

Any freak accidents you want to share, sure I can think of my own bonehead ones given some time. Still feeling the pain of to many gin and tonics last nite

Allison,
Thanks for lightening our hearts with this thread. Your posts in general are a pleasure to read and I am blessed to be here with you to receive them on a regualr basis…. for now.

Funny you should bring up morning after blues…
I was testing a 1000 lbs. tank transmission years back and was hung over big time. I forgot to tighten down one of the brackets and the sucker slid on to my foot. Luckily I was wearing steel toes and I got out of that part with minor bruising. When the other folks were trying to free me, one of the steel cables on the sling holding up the tranny on the overhead crane snapped and busted me in the eye. So in essence, I took more damage with stitches and a slap to the face then with a one tron transmission on my foot. Lucky and dumb……..

When out snowboarding last winter we found a lovely cliff that could function as a bigjump. After a while we got more and more daring in our attempts to "outtrick" ourselves. Well, a friend of mine won by performing a backflip -and upon landing impale himself on a small tree Needless to say -the hospital was the next stop for us after that

Hey,

Cool stories, nothing like sharing some of the goofy places/situations we find ourselves in sometimes…ie good to know I am not the only clutz around

Gotta hate those morning after blues Halfman, think I would learn but no Sounds like you came out of that pretty lucky considering, must have hurt in a huge way though. My girlfriend was so proud of the size of her black eye (???) sounds like you probably had her beat on that one. Like I said before always cool to read your spin on things, if you get the call and can’t be here please let us know. Sure there would be many positive thoughts to take with you.

Tony whats with your friends and automobiles sounds like a dangerous drive with them Did one of your cars catch on fire as well, or was that Kurticus? Liked the addition of smashing glass, scary story even without the glass bit though.

Robert that must have been a helluva thing to see, impaled on a tree That had to hurt, must have been interesting explaining it to the ER staff

Hey Salamiguy,

A child where I work did that same thing the other day, as I work in a hospital it was down to me to assist with the retrieval

Let me just tell you, Allison, that the needle-nosed pliers are one of the most useful inventions in history…

Just a little friendly advice for future occurences.

Hey,

Mattman your right about those pliers, we have some pretty interesting tools to choose from but those were the best. Thing was to keep the kid still while we did the job, didn’t take too long….gotta hate those yellow crayons

Thought of another story involving my girlfriend Numbskull…starting to wonder about her She was driving her bike down the street and some idiot didn’t look before opening their door…wham she drives right into the door. Airborne for awhile but landed pretty hard, damaged some ligaments in the knee, wicked scrapes and a mild concussion were the result She was down for the count for awhile, still doesn’t feel safe riding a bike.

The crayon in my nose was purple I think,so don`t blame yellow crayons.
Had a few food accidents recently,in june I was eating salami(what else) and bit into a bone piece and bruised my gum,did the same thing in august again on cashews, this time 59 times the pain(a Mouldian reference).

Hey Salamiguy,

Sounds like you need to check the food you eat very carefully…some zombie out there might be sabatoging your food supply I would have preferred a purple crayon in my extrication…I just hate the color yellow so it made it worse for me

Couple other stories to add, none as painful as a couple above but were hilariously funny to me at the time

Ex of mine was opening a bottle of champagne in his car, cork popped and hit him square in the middle of the forehead. He had this huge red/purple cork shaped mark on his head for weeks, I laughed every time I saw him

Voodoo Guy was putting together some wooden bar stools for me, he is not what you could call a handy man kinda guy so he was more than a bit confused. Glued the thing together wrong and had to pull it apart. Had a tough time pulling the legs off, eventually it came off with the use of a lot of force. Apparently too much force, smacked himself really hard in the face, he was okay just had this huge welt on his face for over a week. I was watching this happen, had to excuse myself to laugh myself silly downstairs….he laughs about it now as well…but then

Hmmm I seem to go for kinda clumsy guys, oh well works for me.

My Mom once was trying to open a bottle of pop and the top blew off and hit her in the face or neck, this is about 17 years ago so it`s hard to remember but she had a huge bruise from it,lucky that it did`nt hit her eye.

Hey Stoner Witch(coulda sworn it was a different name when I started),

Ouch that sounds like it hurt, broken bones suck…take way to long to heal so out of commission for a long time

That telecaster thing, definitely lame thing to do…did he ever get a payback from you?

One time Voodoo Guy was playing a show, tons of people on the floor and someone brought a soccer ball out..god knows why. Everyone was kicking it around so when it landed by me I wound up and kicked it blindly…whoops. It went straight at Voodoo Guy behind the drums, hit him smack in the face Freak accident definitely, no way did I aim just blind luck on that shot…hard time convincing him of that though
