      FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

      DINOSAUR JR.
      ANNOUNCE WEST COAST TOUR DATES.

THE EAR-SHATTERING ORIGINAL LINE-UP PLAY TO
      SOLD-OUT CROWDS IN EUROPE
AND PREPARE FOR THEIR FIRST U.S. TOUR IN FIFTEEN YEARS.

DINOSAUR JR. ALSO CONFIRMED TO PLAY JAPAN’S FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL.

Praise the Guitar Gods, Dinosaur Jr. is back – in their original lineup!

Dinosaur Jr., soon on their way back from a sold out run of European shows, prepare to embark on their first U.S. tour since the ground-breaking power trio split fifteen years ago.

The volatile relationship of its members – J Mascis, Emmett Jefferson “Murphâ€? Murphy III and Lou Barlow – and their enduring influence on alternative rock, recently compelled Time Out Chicago to dub this reunion “far more interesting than the bloated arena resurrections of late.â€?

Dinosaur Jr.’s sonic wall of melodic bass, furious drums and stunning guitar wizardry, coupled with an almost laissez faire vocal delivery, forever changed the face of rock & roll music. Their recently re-issued albums and their epic reunion shows are proving the music to be as relevant today as it was when the band first roamed. Dinosaur Jr.’s debut performance in April at Hollywood’s Spaceland confirmed the trio’s live show to be as electric and jaw-dropping as ever, while their three albums recently re-released on MERGE – Dinosaur, You’re Living All Over Me and Bug – have been deemed by critics as “classics,â€? offering “near-perfect, ridiculously hooky thrash.â€? (Blender)

If only they’d add the Austin City Limits festival. I bought tickets to it already so Dino might as well play!

            Pitchfork Story

Hey, bands, listen up! The key to a successful tour is to wait 15 years between tours. People get tired of seeing you at the Empty Bottle in Chicago or the Fox in Boulder every three months. Take a break, maybe argue with each other a little bit, and get back to booking in a decade– shows’ll sell out in hours.

Dinosaur Jr. was obviously more successful and revered than your standard indie rock group, and they parted ways for more serious reasons, but their current reunion tour has been well-received. They’ve just added a bunch of West Coast dates, as well as filled in some holes in the Eastern tour.

They’ll tour the East Coast and Midwest throughout July, culminating with a stop at Lollapalooza in Chicago before heading to Japan and Europe for a couple weeks of festivals. Following that, they’ll come back to North America for the Western leg of the tour, and at the end of August it’s back to Europe for a few more festivals. These reunion tours are grueling.
