I wouldn’t normally do this, but since Dinosaur Jr is FROM amherst… western mass… and in relative proximity to Springfield… I thought I should post this.

There is a contest on http://www.usatoday.com occuring between competing real Springfields throughout the USA for the World Premiere of the Simpsons Movie (The Simpsons take place in a fictional Springfield, though it has many similarities to our own).

The contest requires each Springfield to create a 3-5 minutee video submission, which has already been done. On a certain date in the very near future, usatoday.com will be posting these videos, for a vote. The video with the highest number of votes will have the world premiere of the Simpsons Movie.

I have created a few places for a grassroot effort to make this happen, by creating a buzz /awareness, thus getting the majority of votes.

My apologies if anyone is offended or doesn’t care. But this could be VERY cool and very fun. And who knows, maybe even Dinosaur Jr could benefit from being a part of it!
