don’t worry, Darmstadt still exists. it’s a rather small city in the south of Frankfurt, like you can maybe see here.

In a more general German map, you have to find ‘Frankfurt am Main’ in the center of Germany – south of it, there is Darmstadt.

btw, it’s a funny name for a town, it means something like "guts town"

50% German and 50% Virginian

My Dad’s mom’s side came over in the very late 17th or very early 18th century and settled in Virginia. Part French, part English.

His Dad’s side was 100% German, arriving early 20th century.

My Mom’s mom’s side also came over fairly early, part French, part English.

Her Dad’s side is 100% German, also arriving early 20th century.

So what’s that make me…25% English, 25% French, 50% German???

Who is "they" and where do they refuse you entrance from? I thought you Dutch were supposed to be liberal! This sounds like, uh, Nazi Germany (or maybe just the American South).
