Hilarious story about Sham 69 & World Cup Soccer…
Sham 69: Back For The World Cup!
The ultimate footie anthem ? it?s official and available for you to buy on June 12th!
Il Divo, Crazy Frog, Tony Christie and a bunch of builders? the line-up for this year’s World Cup singles has hardly been much to write home about until?
Virgin Radio Breakfast Show DJ Christian O’Connell launched his search for a People’s Anthem to accompany England’s bid. The track that listeners jumped all over was Jimmy Pursey’s adaptation of his Sham 69 hit ‘Hurry Up Harry’ now updated to ‘Hurry Up England’.
The song was recorded with former-Blur member and now solo star in his own right, Graham Coxon who joined Sham 69’s Jimmy Pursey on lead vocals for this recording. It’s already been receiving a whole lot of media attention from GMTV to Sky One’ Soccer Six with The Star and Metro newspaper tipping it as their clear footie anthem favourite.
Christian said: ‘We could not leave our national football anthem to the numbskulls at the FA. ‘Hurry up England’ is the perfect track for fans to belt out in the stands, in the pub or even at home in front of the telly. Unlike other football songs, this will truly be a single made by the fans, for the fans.’
It’s available as a collectable 7" Picture disc and CD.
The single arrives on 12th June just in time for the event and a donation from sales of the single will be given to Roger Daltrey’s charity, the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Come on Eng-er-land etc!

) against Portugal, best team until now are the Germans…., so, here we go again:’54, ’74, ’90, 2006

June 27, 2006 at 1:38 pm #118229Ah yes, finally we?re talking the proper form of football here at fs !
Well, I actually thought it would be
Argentina
Brazil
Nederland
England or France
With Ivory Coast as a contender for a special appereance in a quarterfinal.Alas, the Ivory Coast didn?t make it past the first stage, Holland was sadly defeated, and neither England nor France has been playing anything resembling football so far. I still think Argentina will bring it home, though statistics show that european teams win when the tournament is taking place in europe. Spain seems to have shaken their inability(is this a word?) to play well when the preassure is on, so they might go far. Italy looked good earlier in the tournament, but it seems they?ve gone back to their crappy "let?s stall and defend for 89 minutes, then we?ll get a lucky goal," tactics.
I absolutely detest the germans style of football, so I pray the take a severe beating. The sooner the better. They?re looking strong though.

Shame about Sweden ! Up until their opening match I thought we would see some Henke, Ljungberg and Zlatan magic again, and that it might take you into the top 5. But that hope came to an abrupt halt when I saw their lack of dedication and determination.

I was afraid that using that word in a post that contained the name Zlatan would cause him to put a curse on me.
Oh and if I could find it I would?ve linked to the best interview with a footballer ever:
Etter minnet:
Intervjuer: vad fick hon i g?va ?
Zlatan: vad? g?va ? hon fick Zlatan !
(beklager at jeg sannsynligvis har skrevet alle svenske ord feil.)July 2, 2006 at 2:12 pm #118234So now, it’s not any longer a worldchampionship, it’s a European.
The French are growing in the tournament, the Germans are delighted to reach the half final stage, and will be brutaly beaten by the pastaboys; Portugal will be personaly send home by zindane, so in the final:
Italy against France. The winner will be….ah just look at the firts post of this topic
