I saw him briefly when he was back here for his dissertation defense a few months ago. I was horrified to learn he’s a vegetarian — all that great bbq in Memphis, and he’s having none of it! Sacrilege!
January 28, 2007 at 7:55 pm #125412I’m a 4th grade teacher, which probably seems shocking considering I usually have 5 spelling errors in every post!
I’m also a father of two boys (one will be 3 in April, the other was born December 22).

My husband and I both have a 12+ year track record of vegetarianism and, at times, veganism. I decided to start eating fish last fall when I had a lot of weird health problems come about. One day I was on campus, and I just got the notion to have a chicken sandwich. Just like that, 12 years of strict vegetarianism went down the drain! I feel okay though. Sometimes I get a tinge of guilt. I am such a "foodie" (I hate the term, but it fits)
I have never eaten BBQ. Supposedly, Memphis is the world capital of BBQ, but I have never touched the stuff! Crazy, huh?
January 29, 2007 at 1:40 pm #125414I work for a small community newspaper as office manager, circulation manager, sales representative, and graphics ad designer. Today is not a good day.
Annastefka, it’s quite a feat to throw yoursellf out there–I think you’re very brave and I hope you’ll succeed in every which way.
January 29, 2007 at 2:03 pm #125415Foodie? I’ve never heard the term and it confuses me.
January 29, 2007 at 2:24 pm #125416With the onslaught of Food Network television and movies about wine, etc., the term "Foodie" refers to one who is obsessed with fine cuisine and wines. We basically buy top quality ingredients and enjoy the process from food selection, to cooking, to preparation and plating, and finally, to eating. We look for innovative ingredients and techniques when cooking and dining. We don’t consume blindly, and we love to take a new city’s restaurants by storm. It sounds pretentious, but it is what it is..
January 30, 2007 at 2:20 pm #125417I see. As long as you are obsessed with something all you have to do is add an "ie" to the thing your obsessed with. So say you’re a porn enthusiast, you’d be considered a "pornie". Right?
Well I like it! Sounds much better then "pervert".January 30, 2007 at 8:32 pm #125418hahhahahhahhha you sure have an odd sense of humore there in in royston vasey ? what is a vasey? is it like a village?

Thanks, deepie.

Last time I came to New Orleans, I was a strict vegetarian and not legal to drink. I think it is about time I made my way down.
February 1, 2007 at 2:26 pm #125423Since 3 weeks I have been working as a check-in agent at Helsinki-Vantaa airport. It’s quite a lot more demanding than I thought at first. We have to do some kind of airport education for 3 weeks. After that I work as a trainee for another 3 weeks I think. Tomorrow is the test of the airport education and still have maybe 50 pages left to read, duh… But It seems like a cool job, quite stressy though…
I’m listed in the faculty of law in the university of Helsinki, but I haven’t started my studies yet. The studies start next autumn, so now I have time to work and do other things(f.e. snowboarding is the shit at the moment). Maybe I get my law studies done in 2012 or 2013, hahahah!
