Are the knobs/pickup at the neck some later mod??
September 5, 2006 at 12:28 am #121795Yeah….thats a cool guitar. I don’t think that the electronics are a mod, the pickup looks to be the same type that came in the Lennon guitar. Actually the guitar looks like a weird Lennon guitar. ?? He’s had that one for a while, I’ve seen a lot of videos with that guitar.
That’s one of my favorite videos of J too….I love the lazy talk.
Something to think about, watch that vid, and really listen to his voice……then listen to this….

September 6, 2006 at 4:56 am #121796Yeah I see what you mean about the Lennon guitar….But this have a cutaway and a headstock that looks quite "Gibsonish"??.
Maybe it´s because i live in Denmark,but…Erh..Who is this Buckethead-guy?.
September 6, 2006 at 11:53 am #121797but didn’t Gibson make a Lennon style guitar too for a while?
Plus I dont really know if it’s a Lennon guitar, its just that the pickup looks like a Lennon style pickup, so I’m sure it was installed in the factory. That I have read, J pretty much keeps his guitars stock. I haven’t seen where he has even changed the pickups in them or anything like that….just the Mustang/Jazzy bridge switch. I’ll have to look around a bit for the guitar….but yeah, it IS a Gibson…..but what?Buckethead…insane guitarist. really really good, it just so happens that Herbie (the puppet) and J sound alike.
September 6, 2006 at 10:11 pm #121798I believe what you’re looking at is a 1950’s Gibson CF-100-E (also known as the Centennial CF-100-E).
That guitar is worth some BIG bucks!
September 7, 2006 at 10:27 am #121799It’s a reissue from around 1994, Gibson did a limited run to celebrate it’s 100th anniversary
September 7, 2006 at 12:26 pm #121800Ahhhh… 100th anniversary… I guess that would explain why people refer to it as the "Centennial". Duh!

…Not to mention the $ they would go for -
