No, I’m not too much into hunting or culling but the funny thing about Mother Nature is that she doesn’t give a damn, she’ll do God’s bidding in a heartbeat, I’ll leave the killing up to her at this point.
I see one very interesting thing about the H5N1 virus, it sure is going to separate the thinkers from the non.
Wow, I did nothing for Y2k, I never worried about Anthrax in my mailbox, but all one needs to do is go to professional web-sites and read how scientists are scratching their heads as to why the governments are not preparing the people better. See how those in the know, those connected with the government, hospitals, police forces, these people are and have been planning for world wide disaster. Most of us who were watching the states prepare, hospitals prepare and listening to those connected with avian agriculture decided to do further investigating on our own, when I sat down and really tried to understand what was about to happen (remember the best and brightest scientists are not saying "this COULD happen"
because the can see it comming) I was shocked! The only answer for me was to prepare your family for three months worth of food and water, so thats what I’m doing. Why the big hush, hush? I don’t know.
Why are people thinking this is some sort of joke or a y2k funny, I have no idea. I guess because they don’t understand the evolution of viruses (in 1918 they had no idea what was happening, many people thought the Germans were killing them) and the need for nature to balance her population.

I guess thats why you don’t see it all over the "news". I think it’s great you’re thinking about your family, but if I were you I’d be preparing for another hurricane instead of a mass pandemic. :-
July 14, 2006 at 11:15 am #119128July 14, 2006 at 2:37 pm #119129RST, I’m with ya’ a vaccine would be great the only problem is the virus needs to fully emerge for an effective vaccine.
This was found under the question and answer section, of your link.
14.If the H5N1 virus currently circulating mutates considerably (Which it is doing) before the vaccine is ready for the public, will it still be effective?
We know that flu viruses change over time (a process known as “antigenic driftâ€

I think it’s great you’re thinking about your family, but if I were you I’d be preparing for another hurricane instead of a mass pandemic. :-I think my family has done the best we can to prepare for a hurricane, we leave nothing of real value in the beach house at the end of the summer, and we keep it well insured. We keep the telephone number of a handy man who will gladly board the windows after receiving a fair sized check in the mail. I’m not worried too much about a hurricane, although plenty of our friends live year round on and near the beach in Florida, most of them seem to have plans in place, they show up at our house for instance, see always a good idea to have extra food.

I think most people are able to do something to prepare for any emergency. Even if you are very poor, we don’t have the degree of poverty in the US, that other countries have, if you are poor in this country we have assistance…………….even the most poor can put away some food from foodstamps and some diapers from the welfare check. In my town we have two soup kitchens that serve two meals a day, we have afood bank that the poor can receive enough food for their family for a month. We also have a group called "RDA" that gathers food from other sources and gives it away from free.

Oh, BTW, the real short and sweet answer to question is……..NO
No, it will not be effective!
If I was not a Gemini, I would not understand why people can’t just be upfront and honest,
my opposite sign Sagittarius always gets accused always of being too upfront and honest,
people don’t want other people to be honest unless the information is good, like "your pretty"
or "I think your great" or "what wonderful children you have" on and on……………………I think a Gemini must have come up with that longwinded answer from before, but there I corrected it.
