Speaking of ‘Cortez the Killer’: I once read somewhere that there is a recording of J, Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo jamming on ‘Cortez’. But I don’t know, I don’t really believe it. It’s probably a Sonic Legend. Too good to be true.

April 17, 2001 at 9:23 am #53350Some more songs that I’d like to hear J’s version of:
Bob Dylan -Just Like Tom Thumbs Blues
Neil Young -Alabama, Welfare Mothers, Powderfinger
Pavement -Frontwards -would be great with a wild solo at the end.
Yo La Tengo -Sugarcube
BTS -Car
btw -Violent Femmes did a nice interpretation of _Do You Really Want To Hurt Me_ on _Why Do Birds Sing_[ April 17, 2001: Message edited by: Robert ]

April 18, 2001 at 7:16 pm #53352an album i’d like j to cover? slanted and enchanted perhaps, but i’d rather see him play old dino tunes live, maybe cheap trick style with a bunch of back to back shows in boston playing a full album each nite. imagine hearing bug, green mind and wyb on consecutive nites?!!!! April 18, 2001 at 8:55 pm #53353Hey Hickory Wind,
Definitely up for the back to back gigs, that would be amazing….definitely. Only thing is it would be even more cool to have the show in Minneapolis…cheap liquor, pretty cool record stores and only a 6 hr drive for me
Welcome to the boards!!!

—just to say he did.Grateful Dead — Mississippi Half Step, GDTRFB (Going Down the Road Feeling BAD), Me and My Uncle, but any one on the many would do!
—just to see if he can.Bob Dylan — All along the Watchtower
—just to join those greats that havehere are a couple for kicks
Bangles — Vacation
Everybody Wants to Rule the World — Tears for Fears — he could really add something to this song.
Lynard Skynard — Call Me the Breeze, Give me Back my Bullets, That Smell
—he could show his "red neck" side
Elvis Presley–Blue Suede Shoes
—*shrugs the shoulders and chuckles*There are many, many more….

June 14, 2001 at 1:00 pm #53358I came up with another song J should cover:rocks off by the rolling stones,it`s the first song from exile on main street but I`m sure most of you know that.Mick Jagger kind of sounds like J on this, especially on that part with the flanger on his voice.Check it out if you have`nt heard it.I`m sure J has since he said before about Mick Taylor`s playing was an influence, who was in the stones at that time.
June 14, 2001 at 1:56 pm #53359Rocks Off is my fav tune off Exile…definitely would love to hear J cover that one…very cool song

June 14, 2001 at 3:39 pm #53360Yeah the Stones, oooh how about Under My Thumb. I have to disAGREE mic doesn’t sound like j but some stones would be okay for him to cover. I would much rather hear J cover something from Cream than the Stones. How about, Sunshine of Your Love of White Room, or the Tale of Brave Ulysses?
Here is another Stones tune, dun-nu, nu-nu-nu-nuh, dun-na, dun-na-na-na. Cause we all can’t get enought of it!
June 15, 2001 at 8:25 pm #53361I would love to hear J Cover the following songs:
Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head (yeah the old song)
Ripple by the Grateful Dead
Love by the Sundays
And oh my God, J did Leaving on a Jet Plane? I love that song ever since I was a little girl. I know J and I think alike.

not when i was there of course, luckily…
June 16, 2001 at 2:40 am #53363I meant mick sounds like J on some of `rocks off`not overall or on any other stones tune.`child of the moon` would be another good stones tune to cover, anyone hear the band of susans version of it?
