When I was about 4 I always listened to my mum’s copy of Nirvana nevermind and GnR appetite for destruction so when I started getting pocket money i went and bought Incesticide which was the first CD i ever bought. Nirvana ended up being my favorite band up until I was about 14 and the first vinyl I bought was a german 12" Smells Like Teen Spirit pic disc, after that I got hooked and spent all my money on rare vinyl by my favorite grunge bands. I love looking through the vinyl that i’ve bought, brings back good memories :)

Forgot about the cd part — I started buying them kind of late, and I think my first was Soul Asylum "…And the Horse They Rode In On," which came out in late ’90. Then, as ’91 hit, I bought Green Mind and Butthole Surfers’ "Hurdy Gurdy Man" and Piouhgd in quick succession.

My first Butthole Surfers cd was Locust Abortion Technician. I think I got it freshman year in high school. I remember like one of the first times playing it my brother coming up to me and asking me what I was on :D
One of these days I’m gonna go to my parents house and dig up all my old vinyl… theres definately some Van Halen, Culture Club, Cindi Lauper, Police – Yeah I’m a child of the 80’s. Only thing is I don’t have a record player.

I know someone who, after hearing that album at a party about 15 years ago while she was on acid, to this can’t hear it without feeling distinctly uncomfortable and freaked out.

I could go on and on with tales of mind-bending experiences at Buttholes shows in the late-80s/early-90s under the influence of various psychedelics, but I won’t. It starts to make me sweat and feel paranoid and see huge bugs crawling everywhere all over again………
