Here is my guitar porn:
i run two amps my Twin Reverb 65 RI for clean and Marshall JCM 900 SLX 100watt/1960A4X12 cab for getting dirty, not shown is my pedal board which contains a bOSS tu-2>Crybaby 535Q WAH>BIG MUFF (EH)>SMALL CLONE>MXR PHASE 90> guitar. The current guitar i use the most is a Gibson SG classic with P90 pickups.

I played through both of my amps today. It was very funny to me too. If you don’t know, or don’t remember…I have a Fender M-80 212 combo and a full stack (Marshall Mosfet head, Laney 412 top cab and a Yamaha 412 bottom cab). I had the M-80 on 10 and the Marshall on 1 and I could hear both ok. If I tried to turn up the Marshall any at all, the Fender was gone. HAHA. I don’t know what happened to the Fender but it’s volume has been cut down a lot. That thing used to be a LOT louder than it is now. I don’t get it.

p90=tubes=kachunk Sooo…I just bought another Strat off of Ebay last night. It’s a double fat Squier Strat. White with w/b/w pickguard, maple neck and fingerboard. I’m thinking about modding it a bit of course….I can’t leave anything alone. I want this Strat to be very "hot". I’m going to leave the humbuckers in it I think….I usually like the stock Squier pickups pretty well. I’m thinking about painting it black and painting the pickguard black too. That way when I beat a lot of the paint off of it (soon after painting it and while playing it out places too) because I really like the way that looks. I like painted pickguards when the paint gets knocked off. I dont know what I’ll do to it. It was $99 buy it now so……ehhh. ?? I almost bought a Fullerton Movibe….really nice guitars and only like around $220, not bad at all. I dont know, I just really like strats, so I now own three of them…..again.

My toys are:
– Fender Stratocaster Ultra (1997) black with perloïd pickguard.
– Fender Performer 650 amp
– Big Muff Pi
– And a super cheap folk guitarit sort of upsets me to think that if I sold off a lot of my guitar gear I could then afford to buy a Marshall Plexi halfstack and just keep all the guitars I "have" to have. But uh…..NO! haha. I really would like to have a plexi head at least, but for now its looking like I’ll be getting another Mosfet. Im ok with that.

The pedals change regularly though. About 1/2 the pedals are gone and my Big Muff is boxed away wrapped in plastic since I think it’s a 1970’s version.
I’ve been playing 20 years though so have collected most the guitars over time. Darker SG was given to me by a room mate and the white SG was $400 probably because of the Floyd Rose though. Fender was $179 back in 1986. So I ain’t rich, the Dr Z was the biggest set back and the best thing I’ve bought.
After all this, my recommendation is get one good loud clean tube amp, a good humbucker guitar wired to split the coils (this way you get 2 guitars in one) and a pedal or 2 and you’ll be happy.
I play this stuff a lot but probably should put 1/2 of it up for sale.
Sweet rig tunamelt! I’ve never played an SG with P90’s. I had Seymore Duncan p-90’s that fit humbucker slots but changed back to humbuckers with a split coil.
One thing I did not like was that the pickups in parallel cancelled hum. It made me always gravitate towards the middle position when playing overdriven tones. However, some of the best tones were the pickups individually.
I played the PRS soap bar – II and liked it, but it too cancelled hum in the middle position. I want the hum!
How do you like the SG Classic?

anyone have a good delay they wanna part with? I’d kinda like to get one of the Ibanez delays I think. I think I’m going to save up for a Homebrew Mosfet pedal maybe……don’t know.

Okay, I’m postponing gear purchase, except for Jazzmaster parts. Need new trem and some new picups.
Suggestions for pickups? I was gonna go with SD vintage, is this good?
UPS just dropped off my new Strat tonight. Friggen cool guitar, double fat strat…white. So I have three strats again…woohoo!

Right now I have a Gibson Sg Standard (heritage cherry) , a Vox ADV50, Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion, Boss CE-2 Chorus, and a regular Crybaby (pink).
That chorus pedal is my Dad’s and it sticks realy bad so I have to like hit it a billion times, but I plan to get a chorus pedal of my own as soon as I get the cash.
I have the same problem with my DOD stereo chorus. I need to adjust the screws on the switch so it wont stick. Dod is really wierd anyways, I love the tones that I get out them but you have to change the jacks and possibly the switch when you get them. Plus, you will probably have some cold solder joints as well. That’s a lot of crap to go through just to have the tones that I want….they should just work harder at making better pedals.
