-shows their development as a band and artists through a compilation of b-sides and live songs. Some of it is great fun, such as the "voice only" versions of three songs(come to think of it, that’s called a capella.) And few bands makes noise sound so good as ATR at it’s best.May 10, 2003 at 4:50 am #93434Sonic Youth – Dirty (deluxe edition)

What do you think of Elephant? I haven’t made up my mind yet, of course it’s good, but I’m not sure that I’m completely friendly towards the sound of the record. On the previous releases it sounds as if their playing out on the sidewalk in a sort of happy go lucky mood, I can’t quite get that feeling from Elephant. And I’m not sure that I like that.
May 10, 2003 at 5:58 am #93436Hi Robert,
Read more about the SY reissue here
…like Jeremiah says in that thread: it is a must-have….

…and ‘Elephant’, I like it, it’s logical development from their previous albums, actually love a lot of the small details when you listen a little closer. Going to see them live in about two weeks time, looking forward to it…
May 10, 2003 at 6:14 am #93437Thanks for the info!
I’ve ordered it now, from the looks of it it’ll be the best $20 I’ve spent in a long time!
Also, agree about Elephant being a logical development, it’s just that I think it sounds less "organic" than the previous releases. And it was great that they included I Just Don’t Know What To Do With My Self from the Fell In Love With A Girl 2 7"
