Ocean in the way
Said the People
and damn I remember when we were getting little bits before the thing was released and I heard "I want you to know"….and I was jumping up and down….thinking…"I love it, I love it" then I heard the rest of the tracks and it got sort of pushed down to the bottom….but recently…..that song has been climbing back up.
and ClamsHell…it’s all soooo good that my Scorpio daughter actually hid both of my copies for two days. What a sweetie, she also hides my American Spirit tobacco……I’m such an addict…..I always tell the kids…I’m only smoking like two or three cigarettes a day.(thats the truth)…give me a break…and in all their wisdom they answer back…thats not the point. Little Scorp told me "Mama I don’t want you to die" my answer was "Sister, I got some bad news for you"
Like the alcoholic that only drinks two or three beers a day I guess.
Going to the beach house tomorrow for a while….don’t pay for internet service there….have to sit out on the deck and "steal" it from the neighbors…..My sis is there now and says "it’s pretty spotty" Oh, well, that’s what a vacation is all about right….getting away from it all.
OH, now, I’m gonna have Freakscene withdrawals…..better print up some of y’alls posts and stick them in my back pocket and I can reread them.
I keep a picture of J, Amma, and the Virgin Guadalupe on my visor in the car. That’s pretty F’in funny…how funny is it for my husband…not so funny.
I love it when he drives my car and pulls down the visor….He’s like "Jeez, why do you do this to me?" such a Leo, it’s all about him. I’m loving life right now.July 30, 2009 at 11:35 am #135769"Robert" wrote:Plans is, as many have pointed out, complete legend. Pieces is a great opener.
I know I’ll probably get some grief from this, but from the top of my head Your Weather and Imagination Blind are the best songs Lou has written in a decade. & Imagination Blind is the hens teeth.EDIT: I have no love for the cover art though, stoned ents kidnapping stoned children, what is the world coming to ?
I think both of Lous contributions are his best Dino songs ever. Absolutely love them.
July 30, 2009 at 11:50 am #135770Glad I’m not alone on this one
Though I’ll be willing to say they’re his best songs. Ever.July 30, 2009 at 11:55 am #135771"Robert" wrote:Glad I’m not alone on this one
Though I’ll be willing to say they’re his best songs. Ever.I would`nt say it`s his best songs ever(he`s had plenty good tunes with Sebadoh/Sentridoh)but they are really good tunes
July 30, 2009 at 11:57 am #135772I accept your challenge !
Name a couple, or 5 for that sake, songs that are better than Your Weather & Imagination Blind and I’ll listen to them when I get home from work to see if I agree.July 30, 2009 at 12:02 pm #135773"Robert" wrote:I accept your challenge !

August 11, 2009 at 8:21 am #135774‘I want you to know,’ ‘Pieces’ ‘over it’…… it’s just an excellent album.
August 11, 2009 at 10:10 am #135775What’s my favorite song on Farm? Hands down it’s "I don’t wanna go there" I love the rip roaring guitar and bass together with Murph just keeping rhythm. Then you add in the lyrics to carry you into the song, they’re great. Then I love the break down three minutes into the song. I love it when Dino goes heavy, it’s not too much not too little, it’s just right. I also get the feeling that J thinks he’s 15 again and playing something out of Deep Wound or what ever band he was in at the time. Last but certainly not least Dino pleases with a 4-5 minute solo.
Its a great album, and what else would you expect from the worlds greatest band to ever exist?, and on this great album I don’t wanna go there really does it for me.
October 21, 2010 at 8:06 am #135776My favorite song on the farm is Shakira shakira by shakira.
I gonna love this song , excellent music and rocking voice.November 12, 2010 at 10:32 am #135777On first listen I liked I Don’t Wanna Go There the best. It was the catchiest!
Imagination Blind has become one of my favorites and has really grown on me. I just love how it starts with that throbbing bass and drum beat, but J’s ripping guitar in the chorus with that stomping drumming from Murph is friggin’ amazing. And I love the lyrics too.
I do like Plans as well and Oceans in the Way (they are about a tie for me). Pieces is also a great opening track as well.
November 15, 2010 at 3:27 pm #135778"there is no here"
i have to say, the only song on farm with urgency, and one of the few songs with inspired drumming. i’m not too fond of farm, in general.
"your weather" and "friends" sound rather fresh too.

November 21, 2010 at 12:38 pm #135780The first 4 songs, Pieces, Oceans in the way, I want you to know and Plans, are the best songs on the album. With Plans being nr 1.
Your weather is probably my least favorite song of all Dino songs ever made. Can’t stand it.December 10, 2010 at 11:25 am #135781my deffinitly favourite is over it, then again ocean in the way and pieces are 2 really good songs too
January 25, 2011 at 2:45 pm #135782Definitely "Pieces", "Over It" and "Imagination Blind". They remind me more of Dino’s older work, but dunno that’s probably just me
