I never understood why people want their favorite artist/musicians to toil in poverty and obscurity!

The only band I’ve ever experienced that with was Radiohead. My only complaint about a band getting big is the fact they start playing large venues. I loved when I used to be able to see Radiohead at old churches and tiny bars on their first few US tours. I was happy for them that they blew up. I really dont like much of what they’ve put out since OK Computer, but I still buy it. It made sense though that tons of people started getting into them, because they were a great band.

For me it’s far worse when a band I really like start making crappy albums. Blue and Pinkerton are two amazing albums, Pinkerton has a spot on my top 10 album and I was close to crapping my pants when they reformed. The green album was a good effort, but after that it’s been total and utter garbage coming from camp =W= and it breaks my heart. If green had been their last album, they -and Rivers in particular, would´ve had their names carved in titanium for the generations to come, now they’re…for me it’s like they’ve ridiculed themselves. To think that a kid these days might start singing beverly hills, that’s where I want to go, instead of emptying their sex crazed, angst driven lungs with why bother, it’s gonna hurt me, it’s gonna kill when you desert me, when hearing the name Weezer makes me sick, sad and depressed.

I know man. My life used to be all about Weezer until Rivers turned his back on me.

I liked Maladroit, Rivers ripped it up on that album, Make Believe had a few good songs on it. They’re still one of my alltime favs though. I would love to see the original Weezer line up with Matt Sharp. That would be dope.
