I made this mix for a coworker who hasn’t heard of any not-quite-mainstream music (like what I listen to). So I’m giving him a copy of "Where You Been" and this mix cd as a sort of primer.

      The Pixies -Alison
      -Debaser
      -Gigantic
      Pavement -Stereo
      -Summer Babe
      -Painted Soldiers
      Minutemen-Corona
-Do you Want New Wave or Do You Want the Truth
-The Roar of the Masses Could be Farts
      -This Ain’t No Picnic
      Sonic Youth-Diamond Sea
      -Sunday
      -My Friend Goo
      -Superstar
      That Dog -Never Say Never
      -Punk Rock Girl
      Radiohead -Anyone Can Play Guitar
      -Just
      Superchunk-Hyper Enough
      -Cursed Mirror (unplugged)
      -Rainy Streets
      Fugazi -Waiting Room
      -Bad Mouth
      -Long Division

Look for vol.2 Featuring My Bloody Valentine, Minor Threat, The Shins, Spoon, The Undertones and many more, whenever I get to making it.

Since he is your co-worker, it probably would have been really appropriate for you to include Superchunk’s classic "Slack Motherfucker." But that’s okay. Good luck with the enlightenment.

I would have included Slack Motherfucker, but the only MP3 of it I have is mixed way low. It was late, I was tired, and I didn’t feel like digging up my CD

good choice on the undertones ‘get over you’. in the same vein, ‘one way love’ is cool too.

I know I’m patting myself on the back (again) but when I checked this CD I liked how it went from rock to spaceland and back again. a sort of "parabola" design.

And "Get Over You" is a favorite Undertones song, almost as good as "Whats with Terry." and of course "My Perfect Cousin"

                    Now to assemble Vol III
