wow, it was great!
last european concert. wiesen is a great location, an open tent inside the woods. maximum capacity maybe 3000 or 5000 people. it rained heaviliy, but this added to the atmosphere. dino were 1st day headliner on a two days festival. never mind the other bands, i didn’t see them. the crowd was very enthusiastic and knew the old as well as the old songs really well. there weren’t too many people attending, maybe 500 – 1000 or so, but that was fine with me.
they started at 11:45 in the night. at first there were problems with the sound, so there were longer breaks between the songs. songs played:
-almost ready (opener)
-back to your heart
-lung
-sludge feast
-pick me up (neverending solo)
-crumble (THANK YOU FOR THAT!!!)
-a song i didn’t knew (maybe a new one? didn’t sound like "old" dino). lou said something before they played taht song but i didn’t understand.
-a very, very majestic out there – introduced by J with "out there", which, apart from a few "thank you" was the only thing he said
-feel the pain (indeed a very fine live song)
-this is all i came to do
-one or two or three more of the old songs (the usual ones)
encore
-wagon (the crowd freaked out; a guy went on stage, played air guitar next to J, tried to embrace him – the security pulled him back and he fell into J#s stack of speakers which began to shake but kept their position; but there was lot of luck that they didn’t come down. the band just played on and J kept cool)
-freak scene
again, thanks a lot for the fantastic concert. have a save trip back home and keep on rocking.
