June 3, 2002 at 6:02 pm #70088Hey!
Those late nite thrills are catching on here in a big way. Italian cultural centre is staying open all nite, every nite so people can catch the games with their pals. Later this month couple Italian bars down the street will be doing the same, when their teams win they peel up and down the street waving flags from the cars and honking the horns…even in the early am
Good luck to all your fav teams, may the best team win…The BEARS
Allison
ps congrats on that graduation thing Colonel…
June 7, 2002 at 2:35 am #70089Congratulations to all of you in the US, with your excellent win against the mighty Portugal!
June 11, 2002 at 3:24 pm #70090France went out, without even scoring a goal…
June 12, 2002 at 12:14 am #70091Yeah, i can’t believe France went scoreless!!!
Have caught a few games here and there, World Cup soccer rocks!!!
Pretty excited about the U.S.’s play although the S. Korea game was disappointing
Anyways, absolutley mesmerized by the level of play! Sure wish I was that good
Good luck to all of your remaining teams!!!June 12, 2002 at 8:14 am #70092Been off work watching the football – come on Ingerlund! Good work, by the US team too, hope they go marching on. Boring game today, but at least we went through – got horribly drunk for the Ireland match yesterday and ended up an almost mugging victim whilst asleep on the tube home. Got arrested whilst fighting the mugger, and locked up for the night – no justice in this country.
So the Argies are out (praise be) and the French. Have a feeling that there could be an outside winner this year, but my head still says brazil or italy.
June 12, 2002 at 8:29 am #70093There used to be a time that I could pick a winner. My thoughts about this mundial were: Argentina and France. Ofcourse I ment: these teams are the first to be kicked out!
I loved Danmark yesterday. Four chances and two goals while the frogs had two balls on the toplayer. BTW its nice to see these matches in the openair at an nice Greek taverna.
June 13, 2002 at 3:08 pm #70094Arrested for fending off a mugger…there is no justice definitely!!! Hope you didn’t get hurt Javro
Cars racing up and down the street this am, honking and waving flags…someone must have won sending the soccer madness into the street
Allison
ps it was the Italions, they somehow made it on to the next level…thats what I get for living in little italy

June 14, 2002 at 6:41 am #70095the would be mugger claimed that I had attacked him on the tube. this is true, but only because I awoke to find his hands in my pockets.
Thanks for asking though Allison, but I am fine apart from a cut and bruise on my head, and that the cops want me to go back in on Saturday (when we are playing Denmark!!??) to make a "cohesive" statement. God only knows what I said on Tuesday night.
Anyway, come on England and Ireland. Failing that, I think I’ll be supporting the US (if they go through) and Mexico – been very impressed with them so far.
Have a great weekend.
Ben
June 14, 2002 at 7:05 pm #70096Hey Javro, that story sucks, hope you manage to convince the cops, I think the cops and you can spend your time in a better way by enjoying the England game, and celebrating an England win (and getting quite drunk) afterwards…..
den Buck (hating the way the Scandinavian teams are playing this WC): Go, England, Go!
June 15, 2002 at 1:52 pm #70097Javro, congrats on the England win!
June 17, 2002 at 6:45 am #70098Thanks dB
Looks like the US has knocked Mexico out as well. Roll on Friday am – England vs (probably) Brazil in the QF’s.
June 17, 2002 at 6:51 am #70099Congratulations to the US for beating Mexico, Germany is next…..
….and all the hopes of the low countries are now resting on Belgium’s shoulders. go, Belgium, go!!!!
June 21, 2002 at 4:23 pm #70100Ouch My condolences to all involved, have felt that pain…it SUCKS
I get my fav coffee at this italion place down the street, it looks like some of the regulars haven’t moved a muscle since they lost…still sitting there days later. Very quiet in there
Allison
June 21, 2002 at 8:26 pm #70101I’m not at all into this sports thing, but it has been very noisy outside my window today (during the Germany/US-match…)
