Thanks Another Girl Another Planet for the compliment and agreeing with me.
I would like to see Ron and J play together whenever possible, although I like seeing only J and the Fog as only a three man band most of the time. It is really cool to have someone else step up on stage for something special. I was at the show in MI this past Nov. when Ron and J unleashed the guitar power and I thought I was going to puke and die from the listening fatigue. …………That was a really cool moment in time…so if someone has it to share please do so.February 15, 2002 at 12:13 pm #53820Hey BR,
I like her movies, not great but cool all the same. Not saying I watch them frequently or anything, been awhile actually…possibly years. I didn’t see her new one when it was broadcast last year, hopefully I can find it on dvd or something. J enjoys acting but has said he doesn’t think he’s that good, he’s obviously not John Malkovich or anything but hey its cool to see him out there doing something he enjoys…at least for me anyways. The fact that he provides brilliant music to the soundtracks as well is a huge cool thing for me.
Chris I prefer the three piece Fog deal as well, not sure if its just a nostalgia thing related to Dinosaur Jr but it just works for me. Agree a guest guitarist every now and then is very cool. Last year in Chicago ticketmaster reported that Wayne Kramer was going to guest in Chicagowith The Fog…if only. According to someone from Wayne Kramers management no one told Mascis or Kramer about the plan…crying shame!!!

February 15, 2002 at 12:19 pm #53821Hi Allison,
I think you or someone is going to need to clue me in on what moves Anders has made. From what I reading/understanding(?) so far she wrote or directed the films that J has been in…is that correct? Can’t wait to learn something new. Thanks, ChrisFebruary 15, 2002 at 12:36 pm #53822Hey Chris,
J is featured in a couple of her films, she has a bit…kinda crappy one though, in the film Four Rooms. J appeared in Gas Food and Lodging, Grace of My Heart and last years Things Behind The Sun. He did a number of songs for different movies, think he also did tracks for Sugar Town…so I’ve heard anyways.

February 16, 2002 at 2:06 am #53823Hi Allison,
Thanks for the reply and web link about the movies. I’ll be checking it out. I’m sure J gets a kick out of being in the movies, I’m sure I would if asked.
Does anyone know if J gets any $ $ $ for his efforts in the movies? I know other musicians do the same to fund what the really love…musicFebruary 17, 2002 at 1:10 am #53824Allison, dont forget Feel the Pain was in the Sinbad movie, House Guest as well.

February 17, 2002 at 4:50 am #53825Hey RJ,
Never saw those movies but thanks for pointing that out. J talked about doing soundtracks/songs for movies on the Circuit8 DVD, said he enjoyed it but wasn’t looking to be the new danny elfman or anything <img> Great interview with J, he talks about himself, his music/goals and plays a couple songs acoustic in a kitchen(? his ny apartment).
Tried my hand at J conversion this evening at a pals place, needed to remind some people of the greatness of J. Reminded myself actually about what cool songs Turnip Farm and Forget it off The Start Choppin CD single are…have to add them to my custom set list.
