Hey Javro,

Glad to hear I’m not alone in my madness…as my usernamesake guy once said…we all go a little mad sometimes.

Funny thing is I bought the same stone….bootleg stones go figure.

Hey,

If you go to the following link there are a lot of Dino/J free mp3’s you can download, no BBC Sessions but hey still tons of great stuff
http://www.freakscene.net/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=18

There is a concert from last year before More Light came out from London, all acoustic show amazing does not begin to describe it. The Rolling Stone bit was very cool as well, check it out.

Also just a tip, you might want to keep these kind of requests all together. No need to start a new topic, just click post reply on the right versus new topic on the left to continue the conversation you started.

Allison

ps was going to give you the address for the freakscene.net/store but I don’t think it’s been put back up yet…could be wrong though.
Keep an eye out for it, great deals!!!

Hey,

Shocks me every time but I like some Tom Jones songs…god how silly can I get but am listening to She’s A Lady….maybe its lack of sleep but its pretty funny. He did a great job in Mars Attacks as well.

Surprised more people haven’t posted to this topic, be brave let us know your guilty pleasures!!!

Hey Robert,

I have some stuff with The Hellacopters and Glucifer, ? half and half on an album pretty cool though. The Hellacopters doing a Bob Seger cover is pretty good.

When I get my pc fixed….still making this chainsaw sound…think its my fan and increase my memory etc will post some boots to the ftp…have some cool stuff that you might like.

Thanks for the suggestions definitely up for some new tunes!!

Allison

ps Just over 2 weeks until City Slang releases J Mascis & The Fog’s new single…countdown has begun!!!

Hey Erigna,

There is a cool song that apparently they have recently been doing on tour that was originally recorded during the Peel Sessions…
http://www.freakscene.net/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=18&t=000033

Scroll down to the botton for the current link. Pretty sure you can get BBC Sessions from an online music store for a reasonable price….well worth it amazing sounds.

Hey,

Seems like I forgot to add my thoughts on the comment made by J about drummers being well different….thats what I like about drummers!!! Pretty much all the drummers I know are all a little…ok maybe more…off center, but kind of a chicken/egg situation…what comes first? In my books normal can get very boring so anything outside the norm is cool with me including off the wall drummers!!! Although that statement helped me understand my husband….hehe, just kidding always knew he was crazy.

Allison

ps I don’t think Rat Scabies was god or anything but I think Rat thought he was a god!!

Hey Rubrick,

You started a good thing here,, some great responses…congrats.

Thanks for clearing up where I saw that picture of Mascis on drums, first place I looked was City Slang.

Philthy Animal is God…too funny, my fav drummer from way back is Rat Scabies ex of The Damned….what ever happened to cool names like that!!

Wondering what your take is on J’s theory on drummers being not quite right after playing on tour..ie shaking their brains until it is hanging upside down and not functioning properly…my spin on his statement?

Hey John,

Bob Mould has a website…granarymusic.com although not a lot of new stuff coming out. Last saw him solo at an outdoor festival in Minneapolis 1999…very cool show, missed the LDAPS tour though…ahhhhh.

I think Ron Asheton is joining the Fog on some of the English shows, they do a good mix of old and new tunes. If you check under Tours on this board people have been posting tons of set lists thru the tour…pretty cool. Here is a link to an online concert from Paris …J Mascis and the Fog
http://www.labels.tm.fr/jmascisandthefog/index.shtml

My new fav sad song by J Mascis is Let’s Go To Church…great song!!

Enjoy the show and let us know how it goes,

Hey John,

Grant Harts songs are some of my fav tunes from Husker Du, Candy Apple Grey for example includes tons of GH’s songs…Don’t Want To Know If You Are Lonely, Sorry Somehow, Dead Set On Destruction. Flip Your Wig and Warehouse have some incredible songs, great songs from both Mould and Hart. Hard to imagine those being as great without GH’s songs/vocals.

The feud between Hart/Mould continues to this day, pretty intense hatred there…have you checked out Poison Years by Mould…yikes. Grant dissed Sugar as being "just a pop band", thats what I loved about them!!

Hopefully Bob Mould will release something in the near future, he did the soundtrack for Hedgwig and the angry ???..sorry not sure what the whole title is. Grant Hart is currently touring, recently caught a show and was completely Awe Struck!!! He did a couple of HD songs…Heaven Hill, Don’t Want To Know If Your Lonely, Flexible Flyer and tons of Nova Mob/Solo stuff. He has an exhibit opening in some Seattle Museum ( I think) of some art work…hopefully some will show up on his new site..http://www.granthart.com/”>http://www.granthart.com/.

Nice to meet another HD/Mould/Sugar fan!!!

Allison

All J Mascis sad songs do the same thing for me as you described Bob Moulds sad ones…always make me feel better!!

Hey John,

Good call on the solo Bob Mould, Sweet Serene,Moving Trucks and New #1 off LDAPS are incredible tunes!!! You made perfect sense about his sad songs being uplifting…they always make me smile. His band Sugar was pretty sweet as well, very poppy but WOW. Hope you have checked out some of Grant Harts solo stuff. Intolerance is the best but the new one has some very good songs…what a voice!!!

Allison

ps 2541 by Grant Hart is far superior on the single version
