Hey,
I think there are a lot of people out there with bad taste….men included. I remember back when hmmm who could it be….listed limp craps last albumn as one of the fav’s.
Glad you’ve come to your senses…at least partially. I agree with one of the posts above a lot of times people have not had the opportunity to hear a lot of J Mascis tunes, male and female…so get to work and play it for some of your female friends.Allison
ps I will also take my own advice and play it for some male friends.

Hey,
Amazing, they must be thrilled to be playing with not only Wayne Kramer but Ron Asheton….unbelievable. Wonder if they will wear the yellow Ron Asheton shades Watt & Mascis wore to a photo shoot…that would be cool. You guys are definitely in for some amazing music!!
http://www.d-filed.com/main.htmlAbove link it to a cool site that has a great interview with Ron Asheton….he also played a mean bass once James Williamson signed on with the Stooges.
Allison
ps looking forward to the show reviews…hint hint
http://allmusic.com/cg/x.dll?p=amg&sql=Beahbeheeeeebieah~Cgood link to a Ron Asheton biography/discography….not bad!!

Hey,
Just checked muchmusic.com….god that was painful!!! No listing I could find yet, they only went up to Feb 1st, looks like we might just have to run a tape thru the day to make sure it gets taped. Starting to wonder who is going to interview J, they have some pretty lame talent, Ed the Sock might be the best of the bunch…sad. It should be very cool thou, looking forward to it. Enjoy the show!!!
Allison
ps I think they start the day at noon eastern time on much music, not sure if it is a 6 or 8 hr day thou. They do repeat most of the programs I think at least a couple of times…more opportunity to tape the interview!!

Hey,
I try very hard to keep crap out of my life but this week something horrible has infiltrated my world!!!! I apologize in advance, Canada has been responsible for more than its fair share of crap…alannis, celine, shania…but Jennifer Lopez is driving me absolutely crazy. Enough already, get out get out get out of my world!!!
Allison
ps wondering if anyone heard me scream….watching some superbowl stuff and who shows up but the crap I have been trying to avoid…..save me..Jennifer Lopez on a superbowl show…god. It will get worse thou apparently Aerosmith will be on the same stage as the most horrifying kiddie bands around….what happened to Joe Perry..he has lost his mind, only explanation is the invasion of the body snatchers theory…its not him its something else…wishful thinking. Never cared for aerosmith in general but he was a great guitar player.

Hey,
You could be right about the image problem ie that crap slacker image….never bought it!!! Thing is Iggy has quite the history, way Too Much Junkie Business thru the early years of his career, cleaned up his act thou awhile back.
God I hope the next time I have a Dr Pepper I don’t start thinking of that horrifying Bee
Gee’s song….that would suck in such a huge way!!!I agree with you to a degree Dimpfelmoser, there were still some good tunes after New Values & Party but some definitely seemed geared to money making. If I remember correctly what Iggy said about selling out was anyone can use the songs as they were not made to be commercial so go for it. The only songs I have heard in commercials etc have been his early stuff with the Stooges and some early solo stuff so that fits with his explanation. The song Butt Town was featured on a Beavis & Butthead show, perfect for that song….it was hilarious best place for that song in my opinion.
Allison
ps Too Much Junkie Business is a great Thunders/Heartbreakers tune….awesome.
The beginning of I’m Not Fine in my opinion was definitely influenced by Cry for Love by Iggy….only my opinion.

Wayne Kramer is a wicked guitar player, originally played in the MC5 out of Detroit a long time ago. He also played with Johnny Thunders from the New York Dolls & The Heartbreakers in a band called Gang War. Whole bunch of other bands, recently played with Brian James ex of the Damned in a group called The Racketeers. I saw him play with Gang War in Minneapolis, Husker Du warmed up it was amazing. Is he playing with Mascis or just warming up….god..that is incredible.
Allison….shocked & amazed
ps here is a link for some info on Wayne Kramer
http://waynekramer.com/report.shtmlhe is incredible, man o man busy as well check it out.

Hey,
I don’t know it looks like your kinda enjoying it…..well ok if you insist.
Allison
ps Couldn’t get in touch with Deniz Tek and Chris Bailey so look out. Deniz Tek played in melbourne before christmas, read some reviews sounded like it was a pretty great show. Wickedly cool guitar player, played on tons of classic albumns and also found the time to become and surgeon & a lawyer…wow.

I would love to hear those tunes as well!!
Why are you surprised J listens to new music past the mid 80’s, it sounds like he listens to tons of stuff new and old. Just curious Bob.Allison
Curious in a what have you heard way not a what the **** are you talking about way…just want to be clear.

Hey,
Your right Crash Test Dummies are horrifying, never got that stuff….thankfully. Javro Alanis gives me nitemares, just about died watching Dogma when she showed up as god. I try very hard to avoid crap like that, could not believe my eyes when I saw her…..ahhhhhh.
Allison
ps the singer from the crash test dummies used to be a bartender at a local club where I live, before he made tons of cash. He was a great bartender….drank all nite on my credit card buying drinks for friends etc at the end of the nite my tab was only 27 bucks
canadian….gotta love free beverages. Left him a good tip and still came out ahead. Celine has been dealt with by the South Park guys….too hilarious.

Hey Dimpfelmoser,
Gladly accept the award but there are a few more out there who appreciate the amazing tunes put out by Bob Mould & Grant Hart. Have followed them thru all the different shapes….Sugar, Nova Mob & loads of solo stuff by both. Just checked our a review of Grant Hart in Chicago, man o man he played all the hits thru Husker Du, Nova Mob and current sounds, he writes amazing songs and has a fantastic voice. Always shocks me that Sugar was not more popular, Gee Angel, Needle Hits E still get lots of play. Bob Moulds solo stuff is great just a little intense sometime. Wipers were/are very cool but in my book Husker Du rules the midwest.
Allison
ps althou these are not active links if your a fan check our granthart.com & granarymusic.com

You know there are tons of things I like about Australia: the weather, freezing here if only I could afford the flight, great website i94bar.com…very very cool, some great bands as well…The Saints are incredible, Radio Birdman were amazing. That last post is definitely not one of the things I like….what is up with that???? I think you read something into that message that wasn’t there. Changed my mind about the deathmatch 2001, Chris Bailey from the Saints and Deniz Tek from Radio Birdman will hold you down as Aretha plays a horrifying song over and over again…..hmmmmm. Kinda harsh I know but hey its late and my impulse control is low. YIKES!!!
Allison
ps I am listening to Aloha Steve & Danno by Radio Birdman right know….check it out

Hey Nolimits,
Thanks for the info, I had no idea he already played that song live. It is a killer song and J would be one of the few able to play the song the way it should be!!!
Allison
ps the Hellacopters do a pretty cool version …don’t bother with the Wayne Kramer cover of this incredible song it just did not work at all, they played it all wrong…go figure
