That sounds like something my husband and I would do.. We are always shocked to see anyone in our area (rural West Tennessee) or anywhere for that matter with a dino shirt on.. It is especially nice to spot people on tv wearing one. Anybody catch the MTV True LIfe "I have OCD"
That guy wore a dino shirt..Oh, and it is way too hot..

Sideways was mine and my husband’s first song.
I concur.
It is hot and sludgy in the smoggy dirty south.. All of my plants are keeling over and I can SEE the heat. Anybody catch that Global Warming special on Discovery last weekend???
Sonic: I remember thinking the same thing about that backdrop. It was nice.
I know that there are people who have lots of insider information who lurk around this forum from time to time. Tom, though I truly appreciate your attempt to drag the info about the dvd out of Lou, we need more concrete evidence that all of our patience will come to fruition! Someone please let us know when we can expect SOMETHING.
Maybe there won’t be a DVD and we are all just speculating for nothing. Wouldn’t that be a sick joke?

The first tape was probably Bad by Michael Jackson (hey, it was the 80s!)Since my Dad was of the 70s generation, he kept all of his vinyl and raised me on Hendrix, Zepplin, Fleetwood Mac, and Neil Young. All of my love for music can be attributed to those nights of listening to my dad’s record player with him and playing "name that song" on the radio when I was as young as three years old..
When I got old enough to buy vinyl for myself it was Unwound’s "Fake Train" that came first.
This thread is so perfect.. I love Neil Young and I always equate him in my mind somehow with J..
Best songs:
Cowgirl in the Sand
Old Man
Don’t Let it Bring You Down"krishandel " wrote:"King Tubby " wrote:"BetteDavisLies " wrote:I was hoping the Boston show at the Avalon from last July would be on there.. My husband and I were right at the front. Some drunk kept bashing my head into the guardrail. When he was finally removed, it was the best show ever. The place was packed and everyone was really excited. There was something about that night..I remember a lot of cameras filming then and there were a lot of crowd shots. I am sure my bruised figure is somewhere on those tapes.
Yeah.. this DVD will be awesome.
It’s funny…..out of the three summer shows I saw (Noho, Central Park, and Boston) I thought the Avalon show was the weakest. Not at all a bad show, just not as focused and forceful as the other two. Central Park was truly amazing, yet I don’t recall having seen any video-ing going on, unfortunately. Both Irving Plaza shows in December easily topped all three summer gigs in my opinion, so I’m hoping lots of footage from those will make it on the dvd.
It’s bizarre how the story of what this dvd is going to consist of keeps shifting like the Bush administration’s rationale for invading Iraq: first it’s going to be a compilation of the summer gigs, then it’s going to be the Irving Plaza shows, then it’s going to be mainly one of the Middle East shows, then it’s going to be a comp of all the December shows, then……
I just wish they’d get the damn thing out already.
Were you the guy who got in a fight with that guy? I was right up there and he was pissing a bunch of people off.
Kishandel:
I am not sure if you were talking to me or not with that last statement, but I was at the front where the fight took place. I was the short girl who the guy that fought with the drunk guy was trying to help. We probably talked. There was a lot of cool people around that night. We all were fighting to keep that coveted position by the edge of the stage!
Though I am a pitiful myspace junkie myself, I do not see J as the myspace type. Also, I would have to agree with Kracked on the "single" statement. J is married.
Yes, but at least we have VHS for The Year Punk Broke. That is better than nothing! This Dinosaur DVD release will be surreal..
XM is sattelite radio – you can have it in your car or in your home, but you must buy the receiver and then a subscription. It is pretty cheap and we love it.
BTW, since I wrote this post, we just heard "The Lung" on Ethel last night at about 2 am on our way home.. We freaked out.
I love Fred and XMU too, but Ethel is now my favorite.

[/quote]Which poets do you like? I can appreciate any poetry, but I am mostly into the modern poets.
I am with you on the smileys! They drive me up the damn wall. There is a certain complication that comes with discerning the tone of voice in a blog, forum, e-mail, chat room, etc. Maybe this is why modern humanity can no longer communicate effectively! Regardless, I get your humor and it is well-taken!

Still, I couldn’t give it up for the world.I figured you’d be a little older teaching at the U of Memphis. You must be amazingly smart, don’t you need at least a masters to teach college level courses?
I have a Masters. It is not impossible to teach college at this age. You just have to really love what you do and work hard for it. I have never lost sight of what I wanted to be – a professor of literature. I have been in school non-stop since I was five years old and in kindergarten.
Age doesn’t really matter so much. I have to be a bit more of a hard ass to get respect from the students, but after the first week or so, they know what I’m about.
I have an old soul. It can be a burden sometimes.

Are you sure the karma points don’t have more to do with your new picture? There are some easily-played boys around here…..
Should I change it? I am not meaning to play anyone, male or female. My husband loves this picture.
