For the record: I have a copy and I’m not releasing it…I’m not having that on me. I’m just making a point on the state of the music industry today and how to better approach current issues.
Looks like I’ve been on this forum about 8 years longer than you. And quite frankly your post sounds like you work for Jagjaguwar or something. In today’s age we need to face it that music is free. it is. It is going to be available for free whether you like it or not. The way to support the band is to show up at the shows, buy merch, blog positively about the band, etc. I know from the Beyond release my thoughts aren’t 100% shared on this forum but bands like NIN get it and are embracing the future. so to you sir, I say: I firmly disagree.
The best thing we could do is get this album out and into as many people’s hands as possible.
That type of buzz around a quality product is what is best in the long run for the health of Dinosaur jr and will generate the most $$ in the current dynamics of the record industry.
furthermore the album is done & ready so let’s enjoy it."alosaur" wrote:We really have to make sure the album doesn’t get more spread. I am definitely going to buy a hard copy, t shirts, concert tickets and more but its only 3 weeks till the album comes out. Lets be very diligent and not let it out anywhere. No more even putting it on soulseek.I made the edit…
"Rumpy" wrote:the album slays. I didn’t overanalyze the lyrics, but "I don’t wanna go there" is indeed a bit too far on the lazy side. the music is absolutely killer though – every song has something special in there, it’s vital to the album as a whole… it’s an ALBUM, not a collection of songs, something an alarming percent of modern records lack (a few singles + filler. woo -_-‘). it’s a focused, flowing unit. every song is perfectly placed, and essential (yes, even the initially questionable "your weather" grew on me after a few listens, and "friends" turned out to be decent too). also, J solos magically. he keeps growing as a guitarist… I love Farm.yes, there is a sense of mellowness in the music throughout Farm. of mature, mellow melancholy. but this is so much better than Without a Sound or Free So Free (my two least favorite J-related albums)… I can’t explain the phenomenon…
anyway, about the ***EDIT- maybe let’s try to keep this an insider affair for now, passing on mp3s to trusted people and do our best to avoid causing a major **EDIT . for now, diditLE@@K doesn’t know of this. I can’t find it anywhere online either. those dedicated enough will get it, and that’s the main point – the most passionate fans, who’ll purchase the album anyway when it comes out, will get to hear it and ease their anxiety. let’s keep it away from p2p and file hosting sites…
and a big fat thank you to tom for snatching it. I can’t express my gratitude enough… I’ll start writing a review for sputnikmusic eventually, maybe I’ll post it here before tossing it on the site of choice for you guys to feedback it?

A Google search for "Dinosaur Jr Farm leak" and result #8 is your post on trying to keep this leak an "inside affair."
Great plan. Excellent execution.

so rumpy are you sharing via another method?
I would certainly hope I have enough "Street Cred" around here for everyone to know I will, of course, be buying it.
Edit:
Oh wait, I just rembered the beat down I got for looking for the Beyond torrent…go easy on me this time.
I buy the damn albums and merch and have been for many, many years now kids so again, go easy on me for looking for the album ahead of release. I’m just a long time dedicated J Jr fan.
Mind Glow: What did you search for? Was it Imagination Blind? Did you make a torrent out of what you have? I’ve been striking out with no luck on soulseek.
Does anyone have a copy?
No way, they were down. Just the new tracks. They are playing now..maybe too many plays!?
the new tracks are dead right now on myspace…grayed out – wont play.
Sounds great!

YLAOM
Beyond
Dinosaur
BugI added all the ID3 tags (track titles, etc.) and added a live shot from the 4/11 show as Album Art. I also converted a copy to .mp3@320…for those of us with our little iPods… I hope this helps. Enjoy
Thanks. I’m DownLoading it now.
"Laminateman" wrote:Hello all, I’m new here. I’m the one that posted that clip on youtube. I was pumped they played IDWGT live, unfortunately that’s all I captured on video. I snapped a few pics as well, nothing as good as the previous poster though. Thank you for those! While my friend was at the merch booth he overheard a conversation that the new album would be a double album. Was news to me, but maybe not everyone. haha12 Tracks= a double? IDK- does not seem likely.
Yeah, I took the pictures and I can be seen taking pictures in your video! Kinda cool.
Thanks again for the video.
I felt like one of the few who knew the lyrics. I used Audacity to make a mp3 out of the pitchfork.tv video the day it came out so I’ve been listening to IDWGT over and over.
I opted for the 7inch as I already had Tarpit and IDWGT in mp3 format….HOWEVER, it would be cool if someone had one of their 4 codes they could PM me.
In the meantime enjoy the pics. -
