Maybe it was someone close to J that may have had a love child. I may be mistaken but dosen’t J have a sister and a brother? I know J likes to use experiences that may not be exactly his, but someone he knows in his songs.
Maybe Uma and J share more then what we thought all along?…That was a joke so laugh with me.
Chris
Really nice to hear that you got the show to share Jeremiah. Not sure if I’m willing to let my computer run for two days to download it at this point, but I am considering it.
I’m thinkg I may need to upgrade to DSL and this will give me a reason.
Thanks, Chris
Sweet,
Jeremiah, do you know who did the art work for the album? Just curious. I have not been using a anything on my computer for some time because I couldn’t find anything I thought worthy enough. That has all changed now. Can’t wait to see what the single album cover will look like!
Chris
Sorry I’m kinda late but………….Happy Birthday!!!!

Birthdays are cool and I love "Better off Dead" I think my fav line is…."gee Ricky, I’m really sorry your mom blew-up"
Chris
Screeming Tree no J for real? That is sad
Thank you to everyone for trying.
Allison, I tried your link and got a (Not Responding ). If you give me some more info I’ll try to look it up or find it and see if it helps me. Thanks already for your help. I remember searching the radio and J was on almost like magic.
Chris
Thanks Lard for the audio recording and Allison for the list, can’t wait to hear it. The photos look cool and everyone is having a fun time ROCK-N! Did the singer from Sparta have the lyrics on his arm?
Thanks all for your efforts (Lard you rock for recording it!) maybe some got the video to share too????
If anyone is curious the football game was good. The Saints kicked the Bengals ass. The stadium is really nice too. I already have my tickets for the next meeting on Dec. 22, should be some realy cold beer that day.
Chris
Hi Randy Jane,
Sounds like a big change for you since I know you are in TN now. I hope it is a very positive change for you. Look forward to hearing about what the change is like.Sincerly, Chris
This would also be cool. I don’t know if anyone knows about it but I remember when J and the Fog played in Columbus, Oh back I guess in 2001 when More light came out. A local radio station in Columbus also did and interview and J and Watt played a song or two acoustic as well. Does anyone remember this or would have an idea of the radio station that would have put this on. Just curious?
If anyone can also save the show in DC that would be very nice of you to share. Thanks, Chris
If someone could please save J’s show tonight and consider maybe posting to http://www.anthony.cwctech.net/ that would be so cool.
I will be at the Bengals and Saints football game tonight and will have no chance to see it otherwise. Thanks Chris
OK, I couldn’t leave this one alone for too long. Please remember this is just my opinion so don’t hate me for it as I too respect others comments, opinions and whatever else they have to say, express…whatever. It is all cool with me.
The Strokes – When I first listened to them, all I could think about was The Rolling Stones back from like late 60’s up to late 70’s when Mick was kind-a singing talking and you really didn’t know what the fuck he was saying most of the time. That is the sound I hear when I listen to The Strokes. The videos at least hold my attention somewhat
Howie Day – MTV did a story on this ASS CLOWN, about how "innovative" and "genius" this guy is for playing acoustic guitar and using guitar effects (loops) at the same time during his live shows….sound familiar? This guy claims to have picked up the idea from Joseph Arthur who uses loops in his stuff. If you missed it he played on TV a few weeks back on Craig Kilbourn. I was NOT impressed at all! He looped a bunch of finger taps and knocks on the acoustic guitar and looped that as a rythem to follow/play to.
Whatever
Simmons,
Good questions. Looks like at the moment the resources I want to offer to help don’t seem to be working at this time until next month.
But http://www.guitargeek.com/layouts/display.php3?id=223 has been used before in previous topics and if you just went to the normal http://www.guitargeek.com you can’t get in. Looks like it will reopen at the start of next month. Other then that I’m working on getting an interview and artical I got that is in Japanes about J’s gear from the last tour. When I have something I feel is complete I will share with everyone.
Aside from the photos of all of J’s gear it does show settings for the following songs/guitars used and pedal settings. If I can get the image scanned I’ll send it to you or see if our friends will post it in this section.
Kind of heard to explain but I’ll try…
Ammaring……………………………………………
Amp settings on Marshall Head – Gain 4, Master 6, Bass 5, Middle 10, Treble 10, Presence 5It also shows the line from J’s Strat to the amp. Although I can’t determin what effect it is suppose to be maybe you can understand what it is by the settings I can give.
First effet setting after the guitar – Drive 8, Tone 7
Second effet setting – Depth 8, Rate 8
Third effect setting – Time 200ms, Level 50%, F.Back 4If you think this may help, I’m Not Fine, and Does the Kiss Fit are also listed that I can give you in this same way just let me know. The artical also shows a detailed diagram of the rout of signal path to what effects and on to the amps.
Sincerely, Chris
I’m going to have to agree with you about this Carl. Seems very odd that this type of thing is going on. The only few things I can think of to say is that it really dosn’t suprise me. Just look who is going to be on the MTV music awards. If we get out a list of who is on the top 20 in "popular" music that will be the line up and also who all the "awards" will go to as well. The Big record labels put the most money into those "acts" and have so much influence now that it is no wonder it is the same show year after year. I won’t be watching!
The other thing I can say is listen to more independen/ true alternative/ college stations/ public radio when ever possible. I do try to support local bands as well in my area that I think are cool too. I love to listen to people that say, "I hear the same stuff on the radio every day when I drive to work". What do those people expect when they live to be spoon fed everything they know about anything to begin with.
I have steped off my soapbox now.
Carl – Remember the movie "RainMan"? Remember when RainMan was saying in the car "97X, Bang the future of Rock and Roll"! In the movie the "brothers Rainman" are driving in Cincinnati, OH and 97X is a real radio sation that is really more or less at Miami (OHIO) University in Oxford, OH. They claim to be a true Independent and alternative radio station. They play J and anything else that is as new as possible. (I’ll be listening and requesting the New J stuff soon to see if they play that) You can even listen to the broadcast on your computer because they do live streaming. For those of you on AOL, you can hear the station on Radio@aol go to Alt. & Hard Rock and go to the bottom of the list (WOXY Cincinnati) or click http://www.woxy.com/
I don’t know if this really helps, but I do understand where you are coming from.
Sincerely, Chris
Thanks to all that thought I had a good idea going.
I know know that everyone would not be able to make it to something like a one time listening party. But I thought as far as a location it could be someplace near Jeremiah. I thought he could be a major help in finding a location near him that would be willing to help us out. My idea was that since not everyone could make it, we could post photos of everyone that wanted to and someone that attends could give a full report of all that went down at the party. (I know before everyone posted photos of themselves in one of the topics) but this would be different.
I am sorry to say however that this is all still only just a dream at this point and unless a higher power steps in I would just wait. Please don’t hold your breath. I think the best any of us can hope for (if you even bother or care) is that we all communicate when we are going to be at a show and do our best to meet each other. So far everyone that I have had the pleasue to meet has been really cool to me.
I think I’ll just wait for my copy of the new album to show up in my mailbox, and when tour dates are given map out how many shows I can see and how far my money can take me, like I did for the last two years.
Chris
I’m going to go a head and tell everyone my idea. I was thinking about trying to get something cool done for all our memebers and J, please let me know what you think…
I sent an email to Jeremiah on the 2nd and a followup on the 6th with the following ideas. I got the idea when I posted the topic regarding how many albums J sold of More Light? I was thinking it would be cool to help J, the record label, and the members of Freakscene.net to have like a listening party of the new album for Freakscene.net members only. This would let all the members get involved so maybe we could really meet each other (buy and hear the album first), it would let the record label be present to sell the album and see the J’s fans are willing to buy stuff J puts out and the members could give a thank you to J for doing what he does best and thank Jeremiah for keeping this going for J and all the fans.
Keep in mind that this was all before it was posted to us that a record label had been selected for the U.S. market or a date had been given to us for release. Now that Ultimatum will be putting out the album and is offering the pre-release sale, I would have no idea if they would want to put anything into a "listening" party for J’s new album. I thought it would be great free PR. I even had the idea maybe J could be present and maybe talk about the songs or anything about the new album. If he would want to take out the Gibson and play a few that would be great too.
At this point I have not received anything back from Jeremiah regarding this idea. I have no idea what all Jeremiah has going on or if this idea could even fly with or with out support from Ultimatum (since we would need something to listen to if nothing else ). It was my idea and I thought it was good.
I was just trying to make what I thought was a good thing happen
Chris
Thanks FC for the better understanding of the Nero/mp3 to cd thing works. I’m confident now that it will be a cool thing to do since I do have now many mp3s on my hard drive that I would like to listen to and share.
Thanks Carl., for the information regarding the power supply and stablility relationship. I had an idea that was what you ment before in previous posts, I’m glad you explained a little further. I’m sure what you explained is something overlooked a lot.
Thanks everyone, Chris
