Yeah, I didn’t understand that either, especially as they weren’t pouring them in plastic glasses or whatever. Buying a couple at once is what I do at the Astoria – saves trying to fight through the crowds. Holding several open cans at once is pretty impossible when there’s a gig on!
Alternatively we could have had none of the droney rubbish, had Dino on earlier and me in bed before 2am! That would have been better

Not a bad show at all. It was a bit weird hearing Sludgefeast third, even though we all knew that’s where it would be and J seemed to tone down his guitar soloing a bit for the YLAOM songs. Very tight. Unfortunately, one absolute prick spoiled Poledo by shouting "woooo lou barloooooooow! sebadohhhhhhhhhh" over and over. Wanker. There were another couple of annoying people there too which spoiled things a bit unfortunately, but you can’t win em all. The most surreal moment of the night was the band coming back on to do "Don’t" when a lot of the crowd had already left the building. Never did I think I’d see Lou Barlow screaming "why don’t you like me?!" like a man possessed. Crazy moment.
Quote:not really, as this is all they are promoting it as.Indeed they are, but seeing as they already played nearly every song off that album at the last London show and the tickets are the same price as the Forum shows, there will be a lot of unhappy people if the band walk off after 40 minutes! I also wonder about the Lemonheads gig where they’re playing Shame About Ray – a shade over half an hour!!! [/quote]
I think after playing the record, they’ll go off then come back and play almost another set as an encore. If they play JUST this record and then leave, I suspect a lot of people will be very pissed off!
Quote:Seeing J AND Lou SING TOGETHER almost made me cry. It was beautiful.Indeed. Above everything else, the band seems to be having pure unadulterated FUN at these shows. Lou was wisecracking constantly on the 9th and J must have introduced at least half a dozen songs. Whatever the future holds for them, this reunion has already been a success.

Quote:i mean is anyone paying attention?Er, yeah. That’s why he said "as expected".
Quote:Assembly Rooms? Sorta next to the Tube Station? There’s a pub directly across from the Forum (I too forget the name). So he might mean that one. Been in there but it was years ago.
Cue loads of people going in that pub tonight in the hopes of seeing them there

Dinosaur played it in the 90s, but I don’t think they ever played it when Lou was in the band.
Yeah, but Lou wasn’t on it. It wasn’t unexpected to me that they’d only play the first three albums because it’s a reunion of the original line-up, not just another Dinosaur gig.
Looking around the Forum I could see several people who looked like they wondered what the hell was going on. Highly amusing. First three albums only was not unexpected at all.
Happily, I have now acquired two standing tickets
