yeah, I know. but I guess I got confused. they must have just been playing out there, but had the album art for their new album at the time (it was 1997 according to the video title)
I can’t really say it comes naturally, but it helps if it does. The best I can really tell you is to get some sort of music theory education.
My songwriting process usually goes like this: I start playing a riff I like, or my friend plays me one. I write it into a music composition software, like finale, and then I build on it and write for the instruments we have in our band. Lyrics either come before I start writing, or after, or I take some lyrics that I’ve been thinking about and then add them to a song.
"tonas " wrote:Besides J, who else has influenced or inspired you to play guitar? In no particular order:
Ace Frehley (KISS)
Jimi Hendrix
Steve Turner (Mudhoney)
Gary Lee Conner (Screaming Trees)
Wade Neil (Seaweed)
Clint Werner (Seaweed)
Rick McCollum (Afghan Whigs)
Rivers Cuomo (Weezer)
Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters)
John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers)basically this minus ace frehlyey and the guys from seaweed. Um, the song "Everlong" was the first song I was able to play on guitar. And the weirdest thing is… the two songs that got me wanting to start playing guitar were both acoustic songs.
The first song was oasis’s wonderwall
The second was the song "Radical Dreamers" from the game chrono cross. Yes, I am a loser. but I still like that song.and hotel california made me want to play guitar too.
My strat has the little knobs on the bottom, but not the tuning lock (I don’t think I’d want one since I change tuning so often). Of course, mine is an 83′ custom, so there’s a lot of different things on it.
I don’t have a piccolo trumpet, but I think I’ll just take the notes of tabs and turn them into sheet music for trumpet. thanks.
