Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention Australia. Shows are in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Auckland as mentined in this link = http://premier.ticketek.co.nz/Ticketek/pipeline/ticketselect.asp?nt=SONICYOUTH&sc=SONICYOUTH&PrevStep=Search”>http://premier.ticketek.co.nz/Ticketek/ … tep=Search
These lists are always probematic because there’s a fair amount of subjectivity involved. I don’t really think they should include really recent stuff (i.e. Elephant). Some time needs to pass before an album can separated from the hype surrounding it and to see if it has aged well.
In this case I’m pretty sure it was the promoter (Mystery Girl Productions). The lame Wellington NZ (see comment above) one was made by the venue, which probably explains the difference.
Wow – that’s a far cry from the Wellington poster – it basically consisted of a plain white poster with J Mascis on it in black!!

Are you serious?Nice to see some Brotherly love

It was just Lou solo, which was really nice and personal. On on the topic of cats he played a cool song about a runaway cat of his

Saw Lou play on Thursday – he was seriously funny and played an excellent show. I requested he play ‘the freed rat’ (about J for those unfamiliar) and he gladly obliged
. I know some people may here may side with J, but Lou’s ex-Dinosaur material is also great and he’s not a bad guy (plus dare I say it – a little less intimidating)
I hear that if you play the Dinosaur LP backwards there is some wierd Satanic rambling and a good recipe for chicken soup – which is kinda convenient if you have lots of sacrificed chickens lying round your house that would otherwise go to waste.

‘Without a Sound’ is alsolutely one of my favorites (probably because this was my first Dino album) – there’s definetely something special about it. It doesn’t seem to be particularly highly rated among others though (see the recent thread about ranking albums).
expect nothing, Sounds like a good idea. I used to have a T-shirt with Bob the dog on it. I left at my parents house when I moved to go to University. When I went back to get it, it had disappeared along with other T-shirts from years gone by – Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins… Oh, the humanity (the fact that I never wore them anymore is irrelevant).

I printed my on Green Mind T-shirt (don’t tell the copy-writers!)
Really good, considering I only used a tape recorder. It picked up the huge solos on Ammaring, Alone and Get Me particularly well. The live version J did of Set us Free was a particular favorite, as well as Ammaring.
Sweet interview
