Hey there mr Kobain.
I’m Gideon. My story is kinda similar to yours so I won’t go on about it or anything.
Just thought I’d say hi, you being one of the few people on this site the same kind of age as me and into the same kinda stuff.Bye
Sorry, I haven’t sent it yet.
I’ve been kinda busy and my computer broke so I haven’t been able to get on the net. Iim gonna send it after this is posted.Bummer about that site getting closed down, but buy sheer luck, I found that I had copied onto my home computer, what the guy who made the site had to say on Kurt’s Guitars, Amps and Effects.
If you want, post your email address and I can mail them to you as attachements or whatever.
Oh and by the way, Kurt never had a white Mustang, he had 2 sonic blue ones for the In Utero tour which look white under the stage lights. He is holding one on the wishkah cover, in the pic of him kneeling down near his effects.Hey if you wanna know anything about Kurt Cobain’s gear go to this web address
http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Towers/8712/kurtseq.html
I stumbled across it when I was on the Nirvana internet fan club website.
As for the whole cabs and power amp thing, I don’t know, except on a few pictures I’ve seen of Kurt’s rack, it looks as if hhe has 2 power amps. Maybe they can only power 4 cabs each or something. This could be the case, coz Billy Corgan used two power amps for Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (apparently he basic sound of MCIS was a Marshall JMP-1 preamp combined with an Alesis 3630 compressor into two Mesa/Boogie Strategy 500 power amps. The Strategy 500 power amps are each 200 watts.)
Seeing as I don’t have a band or anything I just plug my boogie into my little Kustom 10 watt amp (incindentally the worst amp ever made – it hasn’t even got eq controls) or this 65 watt peavey combo I’ve got.
If you do decide to use a power amp, a solid state one might be a good idea as you don’t have to change any components ever really and they last real long. However, valve ones sound a lot better in my opinion, but they’re usually more expensive.
Also one idea if you want to go really loud, and you like the sound of your Peavey is to run it into a power amp or two, if your head has an external speaker socket or two then plug a power amp in there, and use it to power your cabs.If you’re on a tight budget, look for a second-hand amp provided its in good condition. I just got a second hand Mesa Boogie Studio Pre-amp for £300 which is about $450. If most guitar mags will have a second hand section of advertisments in the back or whatever so look around, that way you can get cool gear for a lower price.
I personally wasn’t so impressed with that much of Loveless, and some of the Isn’t Anything tracks were cack, but most of it was way cool.
I don’t know if u can do what you said, but check out http://www.guitarstart.net, and go to the FAQ section, where there is loadsa info from crazy technical guys on how to build wierd pedals and stuff.

Nice to know I’m not the only one.Bye
And Hello to you peoples too
Hey Rosa, You like surf?!
Who do you likeOh yeah and Cale, I really went off Offspring and Green Day when they signed massive record deals, and started making shit muzak, but I still think their early records rule.
In my opinion, these covers were better than the originals.
Nirvana – Love Buzz
Dinosaur Jr – Show Me the Way
Jimi Hendrix – All along the WatchtowerDoes anyone agree?
Most people seem to be really confused about this so:
Compressor/Sustainer
As u can guess it can sustain your sound for longer, but you’ve really gotta hear it before u can understand what it sounds likephaser
This gives s kind of sweeping/swirling effect which makes your note seem as if it is going up and down repeatedlyoverdrive
This overdrives your guitar signal basically (duh) by adding more gain to it. It won’t sound very good if you want a distorted tone, in which case you need dstortion. But if you already have your guitar slightly distorted, overdrive just makes it more distorted.Feedback Modelling
Does exactly what it says on the tin: models feedback. This is usefull if you want feedback without having to turn your amp up real loud. Thanks for that web address. the site is too cool.
The octavia sounds great too. It sux though that all the best gear costs stupid prices. Have u checked out any Roger Mayer effects? There’s this one called the Voodoo Axe which Billy Corgan has one and it sounds amazing.
The website is http://www.rogermayerusa.com
Unfortunately there aren’t any sound files, but its a cool site anyway. -
