Weird man……

I went back there and relooked at the cartoon. Found I didn’t have the last two frames load the frist time. I didn’t find the Budge lyric, I don’t know all of them yet. The Jet Plane I didn’t catch. I am obscure….. Funny, in the skinee j thread, your response to my first post in that volley looked like you some how posted a blank pm with me trying to send you a blank pm… I went back and it was gone. Shit around here is acting up. I gotcha now….
As far as the hook, I know you are doing intros but from what I saw it looked like you left to explore before going into orbit. Not so with the last two frames. Damn shame what Marshall stacks can do to a slumlord. (IDEA!!!!!)

As far as you last comic, My jury is out. Who is that next to J, can’t be salammy. Why would he protest his own joint? The songs, I am unfamiliar with. Perhaps a bit too obscure in some areas. Reminds me of eightball comix a bit …. other than that I think you are moving along in the right direction. Make sure you have the hook before adding the spirals.

Right you are. I thought the radio told me the game was a lock. Didn’t know Florida played again. Whoops.

Welcome aboard, Tb!

Got two slots waiting for me at the door. Use your search option and look up "December 1 Solo Acoustic Gig". All info still applies. Might drag my brother along. He lives on the East Side, where I am from originally. Ma lives in Hammond, IN on the border over that way. Gonna stay there on show-day and night unless something better comes along. Send me a private message, Ok?

Cool, found you are a teacher. Currently going to school to be one also. Hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers,
Tom

Now that they took the Pac and Big Tens out of the Rose Bowl, why not send Illinois and Oregon to a bowl in Florida? Would that be the Orange Bowl?

Don’t know if Illinois can take em, but that is my team. Doesn’t hurt to have a Butkus on defense, either.

Go Illini!!!!!!

Caught something funny ia few weeks ago:

"Western Union Desperate" by Mary Lou Lord ends with:
So Hey! California here I come
I got my old backpack and a sunburned thumb
I hope my compass is tried and true
‘Cause when I need a friend, it’s still you

Trying not to get musicians sued,

Got some diverse jams spinning at the moment.

Bought Mazzy Star "So Tonight That I Might See".

Nice collection of slow moody, but crisp songs. Heard "Fade Into You" when it came out off of that record. A nice song, as was every other one Hope and David made. Perhaps this was another band who couldn’t make bad songs. Looking forward to hearing Hope’s new disc that Salami and others have spoken of.

Also bought Helmet "Meantime". Lots of power chording here, especially with their hit "Unsung". It can get repetitive throughout the album but for some reason, it still sounds good, even after seven years of hearing them the first time. Their lyrics on this album also appear confusing on the surface but I think they write in much the same vein as Jawbox with a kind of hidden story/allowance for interpretation/application bent. It takes some talent, or at least strong chemicals to do this…..

Borrowed from Neighbor Man:
Palace Brothers "There Is No-One What Will Take Care Of You"
Don Caballero "American Don"
and Shakti with John McLaughlin.

Palace Bro’s is musically neat and similar to the Sparklehorse VivaDixie. Is the breaking of Oldham’s voice a regular thing or just on this record? Somehow it fits well with the rest. More on them later. Need time to take in fully.
Caballero and Shakti are both instrumentals so far. Not done listening to any of these three yet. Shakti is Indian jazz. McLaughlin has his acoustic guitar modified so that there are a diagonal set of strings that go across the regular set right over the opening on the body. Very weird looking but it sounds pretty good. Caballero defies description at this point.

On Sparklehorse, I am convinced of Linkous’s genius. On VivaDixie, he seems to have the songs listed in a story format with the -short blurb songs like Double Pumper Holly and Little Bastard Choo Choo falling in between the good songs. I would think he is using transition here but I haven’t been able to figure out a plot yet. Lyrics would be nice anyone….

Tony,
Yeah, weird.

This guy in my speech class gave a 9 min or so persuasive speech on how mullets are becoming an endangered species. He went over the top, but it was still a riot. He gave several examples:

Business in the front, pleasure in the rear: a version in which the person has a part on the side, feathered, short on the sides and down to the middle of the back.

The Skullet Mullet: nothing on the top, long on the sides and back (my personal fave )

and lastly the Gold Tooth Femullet: picture of a black lady with a gold tooth hair short in front and in the sides and long in back.

Bears did some great things today.

They beat Tampa in Tampa for one. Hard to do. Not many NFC Central teams besides them have done it and prob not many will.

Marty Booker scores three touchdowns! He is proving the Bears might have the best core of receivers in the league, even with Marcus Robinson shelved. Sacrificed his body bigtime for one while getting hammered by John Lynch, nastiest safety in the league

R.W. McQuarters pulls a pick off of Keyshawn "Give Me The Damn Pinkslip" Johnson and actually shuts up his trashtalking for the rest of the game after that. Don’t know many players who can do that.

Gambled alot more on the pass this week and it paid off. All’s well in my world….

Get ready: Bears-Lions and J in Chi-town in two weeks! Aaaaaaaaaaagh!
