Tony,
I live about 2 1/2 hours away or about 100-110 mi. If I play my cards right, I might get to chill out at my Ma’s over in Hammond, IN which is only about 20 miles away. Will need to bust serious ass on schoolwoork from now until then to pull it off either way.
Plan 2 is hooking up with travelers and going in on a hotel room. I know the outlying south suburbs well and good rates out of the city are out there. Who knows, might be ok to do it in the city itself, but Chicago city tax is a mutha on anything you buy there.
I am up for suggestions outside of this if someone gets spunky. Might try to get some punkers at school to go, including a nice young lady in my biology class

Just an update on the Empty Bottle gig on 12/1 in Chicago….
Checked Ultimatum’s site, yes, there is a listing for the show on that date at that location. Checked the Empty Bottle’s site, they do not have December’s show posted yet. Emailed thier box office await response.
When I get the times and prices, will post them at once. If this is a go, feel free to post your interest here and maybe we can hook up. Would be my first J show, but I am from Chicago originally and the show is on a Saturday so we could have some fun
TomP.S. Mucker, welcome aboard! Not just saying this because of your info. Somehow you missed the usual welcoming committee we have here If you want to, the Introduction area is a good place to go and meet folks by sharing your initial J or Dino stories.
P.P.S. as far as weekend BEARS propaganda,
chances are excellent they could end up alone in first place. Baltimore plays Green Bay, Tampa Bay plays Tennessee and Minnesota anbd Detroit play each other. The Bears play Arizona and lost to them in the preseason, but I think this is a different team this go round.
Recognize, yo! [ October 13, 2001 11:05 PM: 1 Half-Man ]
Big ups to the Fat Boys, UTFO, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, The Real Roxanne,Kurtis Blow and all eighties breakdance shit, Holmes!
I used to own Pac-Man Fever, Dan Fogelberg’s Leader of the Band, and I am pretty sure I also had Huey Lewis’ Do you believe in love.
Hi, my name is tom and I am a wackaholic.Hey Salami,
Nag Champa incense would hook you right up. Any hippies out here? I am glad J is making it happen again! To do what he is doing so soon after breaking his back is truly as amazing as the music he makes.
Hope to get off my dead behind and finally go see him at the Empty Bottle. Great news Mattman and Mucker.
Tom
Someone please whip me like a wildcat’s ass:
I got curious and again bought another new Rollins Band record. That clown has now taken to wearing leather pants and hiring black gospel back up singles. I really think old boy is mentally gone. "Nice", the new album is more metal schtick like on "Get Some, Go Again" No Wayne Kramer on this album. I think I am going to trade it for used Lemonheads. Hell’s Angels and Gypsy Jokers,
My copy just arrived
What can I say? It took care off all the parts before and after and solidified the fact that soon, a complete collection will be in order.Additionally, I would like to concur with Karen’s post from before. Even with a few of the unfamiliar tunes, I had no problem vibing the progression, yet still easily recognizing the source. Voila! Along the same lines, the history capsule on the inlay was very informative for me in some parts. I was hoping to see something cohesive in print for J’s travels. This was a good start.
Always mellowdharmatic,
Tom

The Naked Raygun guys did get weaker as they went on. You are right, Adam. Their politics are dated and at times excessive. What album did you get BTW? (not a con job to make you like them, just curious so I can realte better).
Maximum Gas,
The distribution question begins in your email account. I checked out a only a few stories and this shit is a full-on riot!! Go Now.
Being the Wackass mowfaux that I am, I got the new Butthole Surfers "The Weird Revolution" while I wait for EarBleed to get here on order this Fri. I can see the album is not too bad, but I am thinking they have been a lot weirder in the past… Some nice sitar work on the cut "Venus" and an awesome hologram that works when the inlay and the box combine.
Hey Robert,
Found in the Help Files (listed around the emulator Section, I think) that the keys are supposed to be W,S,D, and another in that vicinity for your directions and the spacebar for fire. If you can’t find this info, let more know. I just don’t have the free time with my slow dial-up and fast accumulation of schoolwork to dig at it anymore for now.As far as the emulators, Not a clue there. takes too long to download for now. Will post what I find when I find it. They seem to have Bard’s Tale. Noticed Castle Wolfenstein and Frank Bruno’s Punch-out from C-64 are missing. Thanks for the Link Trav. That site just took ten years off of me…..
I am not 100% sure, but I think my first "bought" album was the one from the Go-Go’s with "Our Lips are Sealed" (album title?) and "We Got The Beat". It was on vinyl. I still think those tow songs are cool, although I do not have the record today. What really caught me off guard was the connection to the Germs Belinda Carlisle had. Never would have tied The Go-Gos to punk.
Green Mind started things for me too, specifically Puke +Cry. Agree on solos and lyrics. Ten years later, I am still finding new things to relate them to. Thanks ta yawll, I have a better conceptual vision of what he gets at in a lot of the songs and also how sometimes J’s lyrics can be approached and understood from multiple angles. Thanks a’gin to FreakScene.
Wait a minute……. yes, it is all clear to me now. You must be related to Mother Theresa. From where I stand, it looks like you and your sister have the blood of saints running through you ! (Don’t worry, that’s never worked anywhere else either)
I kind of heard dino at first on accident also. Check the Introduction section for my deal….
Fact that impresses no one anywhere: I shook the hand that shook the hand that shook the hand… etc…. I’m special anyways, dammit.
😛 TomThanks for the pics Rosa and sis.
