Welcome back Buckyboy,
I buy you a beer coming thursday while enjoying Beth Orton’s concert at Paradiso.
There is a rumour that Ryan Adams will be there too ;-))Nick Cave and the bad seeds/No more shall we part
Bruce Springsteen/RisingBeth Orton / Daybreaker. Good album! Dreamy and intence voice with help from the chemical brothers and Ryan Adams+ Emylou Harris.
Attending her gig soon so I have learn her songs.
I’m back!!!! Didn’t have a change to enter FS while in Lesbos. All the internetcafé’s had the sign "No man Allowed" All the prejustices are true, special at a place called Eressos. The internetcafé was a joke ofcourse but over there they have hotels only for women. A friend of mine and me were at a nudybeach and we felt embarresed to be a man. There were only nude girls and the didn’t even give us a glance at all.
Anyhow, we had more time to drink beer, retsina, capt, Morgan with coke and alle the other srinks we could find. Lot’s of fun and the scenery is perfect.Enjoy enjoy enjoy. See you soon and be careful out there on those sugar mountains!
Thanks for the tip buckyboy….
The Vines, Milkyway Amsterdam 10/10
Beth Ornton /Paradiso Amsterdam 19/9Finaly the circus is starting up again, it was a bit silence in milkyway and paradiso
Happy birtday Siphonophora,
And the beat goes on….who’s next
The Vines///Highly evolved
Peppers////By the way
The Organazation///Savor the flavor
Lizzy Borden///Deal with the devilNice to mention Allison, it almost makes me starti charlie watts topic. I remember a song by John Hiatt (Slow turning)
"Now I’m in my car
I got the radio on
I’m Yellin’ at the kids in the back seat
Cause they’re bangin’ like charlie Watts"From Presley ( I get lonesome sometimes even…) to Jagger is just a small step. It’s from the song "Time waits for no one" , and he makes a point I guess.
BTW….When I became a Tom W. fan I’d loved to change the lyric into : Tom Waits for no one.
Song of a preacherman / dusty springfield
Song and dance brigade / fisher z (80ties uknow)
Song of a bitch / soolmaan
Songs for drella / reed and cale (for warhole)
Songs in the key / wonder
Songs of the Free / Gang for fourHow about "Drumbo", drummer with captain Beefheart.
I liked that guy with the lemonheads (specialy on the song mrs robbinson) and Tony Thompson, this session drummer did great things on Bowie/madonna etc.
As a band/beatlesfreak I must put levon Helm and Ringo in the spotlights
I also loved the things Sly Dunbar did.
Also have to mention Richy Hayward, Dale Crover and good old Jim Keltner.Great mix Db.
I is a real caleidescope, soul, alt country, triphop and I even traces beatlesque parts. Track 9 and 19 made my head shook!!! Massive Attack and Portishead/tricky…nice to hear the roots. -
