The first record I ever bought was "mighty Joe" by a dutch band called "Shocking Blue". Maybe you people from the states can remember the song "Venus".
I was 10 years old and I was so in love with the girlsinger. I could stare at the sleave for houres, watching mysterious look in her eye, her half covered breasts, I even looked up her phonenumber in The Hague and try to call her, just to tell her I love her. My room was filled with posters of her, she was so sexy.
She still performs these days, she turned out to be a jazzy singer…but now she looks like a jellyfish, so fat. There is nothing left to remind me of my lovin’ feelings I had for her…and believe me "they were deeeeep"

The mother was "just happy". For me it makes her a suspect 😉

It’s an escape like in the books I’d love to read when I was a kid whilst dreaming to end up a hero myself. Look at me now!! The only heroism is beating up den Buck with a game of snooker ;-(

Haven’t on the board lately. I’m shocked to read this sad news. Never thought that death of an internetfriend was possible, but sadly enough it is. I wish you lot of strength Max!
                      …good luck!

I am also touched by the way this board respond on your sad post!

                        TULSA TELEPHONE BOOK

Have you read any good telephone books lately?
If you ain’t then let me recommend one
I’ve already read that Tulsa telephone book through thirteen times
If you don’t know any last names it ain’t much fun

Readin’ that Tulsa telephone book, can drive a guy insane
Especially if that girl you’re lookin’ for has no last name
I gotta find her and tell her, I don’t want our love to end
So I’m readin’ that Tulsa telephone book again

Well, I was in Tulsa and didn’t have anything goin’
She lived in Tulsa and didn’t have anything on
She said, "My name is Shirley," and I said, "My name is T."
I woke up the next mornin’ and she was gone

All of the Tulsa operators know my voice now
And they gotta know how long I’ve been alone
If you meet a girl named Shirley with some ribbons in her hair
Would you tell her that she’s wanted on the phone

Readin’ that Tulsa telephone book, can drive a guy insane
Especially if that girl you’re lookin’ for has no last name
I gotta find her and tell her, I don’t want our love to end
So I’m readin’ that Tulsa telephone book again
I’m readin’ that Tulsa telephone book again

What’s the use of reading telephonebook when you don’t know her last name. I’ve been a fool in love several times but I don’t get this one! Second attempt to post this one

                                Cake, Paradiso, 4 July 2002.
This band was on my list for quite a while. They planned to come in 2001 but the 11th September spoiled that. The gig they played last night was great. A lot of songs from their latest cd “comfort angelâ€
