Paradiso, 20 march 2002, Mercury Rev
It was fun to hear Dinosaur jr freakscene coming by, just before the show started; after the song. I was ready for Rev. Irish Whip, maybe I was standing next to you without knowing!
Great show by Mercury Rev. Jonathan Donahue led us through a lot of songs from the last two albums (deserters songs and all is dream) and two nice covers. “Once in a lifetimeâ€It was great last night! I’ve heard freakscene coming by as well! How did you like Mercury Rev?I think it was a great gig, dancing second row, with my shining head!!!
Last night I saw mercury rev at paradiso in Amsterdam. As an encore they were playing this song. Not the way talking heads were playing it but it was an interesting aproach. No tabs though!

Paradiso…big hall yesterday.
A totaly sold-out Paradiso. Elvis Costello played for about one hour and a half, 18 songs that covered most of his career. No "She", "we don’t play that shit tonight", he proclaimed!. Great sound, awesome drummer/baseplayer and ofcourse on keyboards, the wizzard Steve Naieve. Elvis played some songs of his excellent new album like "Alibi" and also some classics like "Lipstick vogue" and "I don’t wanna go to Chelsea". Highlight for me and the other 2999 people, was the encore: "I want you". When he finished that one all paradiso was covered with gooseflesh…my god…Ice on my back…starting as a lovesong and ending as a cry for help because his girl is doing it with "that clown". And slowly he stept back from the microphone, leaving the crowd speechless….47 years of age…still very relevant!
At just a quarter before 10 o’clock it was all over. I managed to climb the stairs to attend Grant Lee Phillips at the small hall, and guess who I shaked hands with?? The author of the review just above this one!![ 04-16-2002, 04:31 PM: Message edited by: Hansione ]

Billy Bob Thornton, private radio while playing tomb raider 3..good combination. Guess Billy agrees on this one.

Spinvis albumStrange lyrics, cant make any sence of it

Freak: What about "Ronnie gaat naar huis" Wonderful lyrics…"de schaduw die zich Ronnie noemde was een andere man, het spook is uit zijn hoofd" (sorry FS for the language, I’ll try to translate: The song is called Ronnie is going home. One line is realy killing: The shadow that called himself Ronnie was another man, the ghost left Ronnie’s head/mind…..Ronnie is going home)
And there are more goodies on Spinvis..dutch FS ..check it out
