I’ve been away too – too much to read through so have just been picking through people’s posts that usually inspire me, educate me or make me laugh/want to attack (I’m sure you know who I’m talking about).
All you have missed on the UK front is the end of a half-arsed summer and the dawning of another miserable autumn.

How many post-humous releases did Nirvana have?
Didn’t really like them, but I would have thought that his death had very little to do with their success/popularity.
Maybe Biggy/Tupac profited a little more.

But you do say some funny things once in a while, and you obviously know some stuff about music. But why would anyone want to embarass themselves so much by claiming to know so much about politics and then disprove your own claims within the same post.

The closest to compare would be with something like Carrot Rope from the last Pavement album. Much more melody, equally weird lyrics.
I have a feeling that there was already some postings re the latest Malkmus album. Where they are however, is beyond me.
My memory ain’t my best feature, knowwatimean.
He is one of the best creative musicians I have seen over the past ten years. Breaking away from Pavement was a good thing for him. The album is amazing, listen and let it grow. And if you get the chance to see him and the Jicks, grab it with both hands. Every time he plays in the UK I’ll travel anywhere to see him – same as with J. Reading festival in August is the next gig.
Sorry to disagree Jaron, but it ain’t the first, and certainly won’t be the last time.
