      Hey Pickle

Laika were absolutely awful! I followed the rollercoaster tour around Cardiff, Sheffield, Glasgow and London. What a great tour! Do you remember the video playing behind Blur?

It started off with a cow (listen up ELJ – you’ll love this) and then went to a slaughter house, then a burger, then a man eating the burger, then to him having a dump. Nice.

MBV went a bit over the top on the 5 minutes of open chord noise. Jesus and Mary Chain ruled though.

Once again ELJ you have made my day with your hugely interesting comments.

        How can I thank you?

            OK Allison

What do you think the possibilities of us both having half of the same rock are?

That would make us rock twins. We could make millions.

That gig was great – the Astoria.

Rubbish support though. In fact, with the exception of Come, I cannot think of one decent support band I have ever seen with J or Dinosaur out of about 15 times.

Just did – Bettie Serveert. They were cooool.

                  Dagnammit Allison.

My rock is real, ya hear, real. Prey tell, who authenticated your rock? The only reason that I ask is that last time I was in your ‘hood in Canada, I came across this phony rock authenticator.

Hope you didn’t pay top dollar for that fake.

                  Ha.

                    Hey Ducky

Thanks for the pictures of Eric. The Crooked FIngers first release was amazing (new drink for the old drunk the standout for me).

Have you heard anything from Eric Johnston, the other guitarist from Archers? Spooky J is the project. Spooky indeed.

Glad to meet another Archers fan.

                      Thanks Alison.

At least someone appreciates us non-award winners….

Surely there could have been an award for the man whose name sounds most like davro?

                      I’d have won hands down.

I was going through my old vinyl and stumbled across Delaware the other day. I hadn’t listnened to it for years. There are still some really good tracks on there, and when I was young I remember liking the girl on the cover. Looking at her know I feel like a sickoperv.
Trumans Water always crack me up. If I ever have to drive any of my dancemusiconlylistening friends anywhere, I’ll stick on the spasm smash album. Rations is the craziest song I have ever heard (with the exception of Beefheart’s Dachau Blues). Don’t know what happened to them, they must have rocked themselves out.
                        Take is easy salamiguy.

Watt is by far the best bass player I have ever seen, but Mike J was amazing. It was always a real contrast seeing him, J and Murph together. (Do you think they brought MJ in to attract a few hunnies to the gigs? Couldn’t accuse Watt of being brought in for that reason!)

Talking of MJ, there was a Dinosaur Jr track played on a Peel session a long time ago with MJ doing the vocals. I think it was called Noon at Dawn (Noon at dawn fades in just as clear, I can’t remember your name but your voice always rings in my head). Anyone know where that came from or if it is on vinyl/cd anywere?

Actually reading what I have just written doesn’t make too much sense. Noon at dawn. How the fuck can you have noon at dawn? Must have been called something else. Damn. I’ve been singing absolute rubbish for the past ten years. Would love to know what it’s called please.

                            Thanks.

                              yeah – I got phone rage bad….

If I hear "Mission Impossible" one more time….

Still, undecided between keeblin’ or Goin’ home. Plus the small detail of not knowing how the thing works. If anyone can do it (register at iobox.com, go to the entertainment sector, then choose ring tones and then convertor, paste in the link, sounds really easy, why doesn’t it work, it’s too sunny here to work, want to go home)

I know that it is fairly sad and that novelty mobile rings are the most annoying things on the planet, but if you go to http://www.iobox.com there is a facility to change midi files to mobile rings.

If you’re gonna annoy the hell out of someone, it may as well be with a Mascistone ™
