Has anyone gotten their ATL tickets yet?
Just wondering. Also just realized this will be a great week following July 4th. A 4-day week followed by a Dino Jr show at the end of it.

Rambleon, where do you live in England? I was just curious. I am from B’ham City, most of my family still lives over there.
Go to Peter Tosh’s website. He has about 100 or so for sale. Kind of strange…

ya know, a typical thing to do in the streets of England.

What band can make it to every country???
No need to take it out on J. Especially since he’s the one that plans the tours I’m sure.
</sarcasm>.

I haven’t gotten to Dion’s chapter since I’m trying to read it in order. It’s killing me though, I may have to read their chapter out of order.Yeah, I gave up on that. I am going out of order. I went to Dinosaur Jr first and then to Minutemen and then to Black Flag. (I’ve been trying to read it for awhile now but keep jumping from book to book.)
Speaking of, has anyone seen "We Jam Econo" yet? I tried to go see it the other night here at the 40 Watt, but moving into a new place has proved to be a big pain in the ass and spare time (outside of work..haha) has been a thing of the past.

As for this Chicago show, why would the Fog play if Dinosaur Jr is playing? I would say that I can’t see Dave doing 2 shows in one day, but he’s done it before so I’ll bite my tongue there. But still. Either way, I am considering going to this. Too many of my favs in one place…Dino Jr, Panic, Pixies, Drive-By Truckers…I’m sure there are others. Plus, I used to live there…
I think I have figured out who FastEddyClarke is…that being said, he will definitely meet anyone (in the schoolyard) in ATL for a fight. He’s twisted.

And because I am too lazy to look for a more approriate topic thread, I will post this here. Just read in our local rag:

Getting’ A Job: Considering that everyone and their older brothers have been freaking out about the limited reunion of Dinosaur Jr., I figured you’d like to know some backstage local connection info. If you think Murph’s drums sound particularly tight or Lou Barlow’s guitar sounds just right on their tour (which hits Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse on July
, you can thank Athens musicians/ technical godheads Kyle Spence (The Tom Collins) and Kevin Sweeney (Hayride, Acetate) who will be touring with the band as drum and guitar technicians, respectively. Kick-ass, dudes!May 3, 2005 at 4:10 pm in reply to: So bothe J and Dave will be at Lolapalooza so why not a Fog #109116Yes, those rubber ear plugs you find in your local club’s bubble gum machine ain’t gonna help. That will make the music fuzzy.
You can invest in a good pair of ear plugs though for $10 and then the sound won’t be so muddy and you can hear all the music you want to.
This, of course, being hypocritical since I don’t wear ear plugs.

And not to mention, the complete monopoly the jerkoffs have with ticket brokers. Besides sophisticated software that brokers have to scan TM.com online when tickets go onsale, ticket brokers have individual TM agents in their greasy pockets to give them so many of the seats when shows go onsale. Hmm, min wage from my tm employer or an extra hundred from this broker to give him the best seats when I first pull them up. Tough choice? Nope.
Not to blame everything on TicketBastard, obviously shows sell out fast when bands are really popular, but TM has a complete monopoly and now ticket brokers are "in" with them. And ticket brokering is still legal in many states – not just because of free markets and American capitalism and all that nice-sounding stuff- but because sophisticated broker agencies give to county commissioners and chambers of commerce. So the city doesn’t suffer, what do they care, it’s regular ole’ music fans that do. Argh.

Yes, I should have made clear it was $8.50 per order and not per ticket which makes it a bit better if you buy more than one (not if you only buy one though.) But at least my money is not going to TicketBastard, right?
The ATL show does not have a will call option.
Either way, f’ it. I’m pumped!
My only complaint with the pre-sale was the $8.50 mandatory UPS charge. I think I’d just like it regular mail thanks, but oh well…at least they won’t get lost (supposedly).
