Don’t worry about me. I have Real Player well under control. I was griping more for the sake of the less-literate, and because of the hassle I have to go through to keep it in its cage. [img]images/smiles/converted/rolleyes.gif[/img]
Personally, I feel that any program that needs more than a few lines of config data should write to its own separate ini file instead of the registry… A bloated registry seriously slows down boot times and can impact system resources…
How many of you have a Soundblaster Live? Its the worst of them all. It writes between 7 – 10 megs! [img]images/smiles/converted/eek.gif[/img] to the registry (not to mention a miriad of other problems the aging design is causing, especially on machines running Athlons/Durons w/ VIA based motherboards.) I recently got rid of mine for the Turtle Beach ‘Santa Cruz.’ Lovin’ this card. [img]images/smiles/converted/cool.gif[/img]

This is a Real Player problem… It’s trying to update you to the latest version. I don’t know if you need to upgrade in order to play the videos on Freakscene. It depends on what version of Real you have.
Anyway, the Real servers were probably down or overloaded at the time. Try again later like it says and see if you get better results… [img]images/smiles/converted/wink.gif[/img] Its a pain in the ass, but that’s the nature of Real Player… [img]images/smiles/converted/rolleyes.gif[/img]
Gotta agree w/ Jaron. Winamp’s the way to go… Very customizable. [img]images/smiles/converted/wink.gif[/img]
Actually, I recommend anything BUT Real Player… I hate how it takes over the entire system… [img]images/smiles/converted/mad.gif[/img] That and Quicktime, just as guilty. [img]images/smiles/converted/rolleyes.gif[/img]
