I love it! I think it’s a bit more upbeat than Farm which I like. Easier for me to follow. “Don’t Pretend You Didn’t Know” sets a nice pace for the whole album. I think “Watch the Corners” is the best track on the album, so I’m glad they chose to go with it as their single. Album cruises well and then really picks up at “Pierce the Morning Sky”. I love the lyrics on “Pierce the Morning Sky” and love “Recognition” after that. I think all the songs are great those are just the standouts. Really want to hear those live. I think the guys put together a really nice album over all. They should be really proud of what they’ve done hear. Can’t wait to hear the other singles that are not on the album. Anyone have a link to buy “Black Betty”?
Mine was in my spam, ridiculous! Listening to it right now, it’s awesome!
I’m still waiting for my code to show up in my email. It’s a bit too long a wait for my tastes.

This thing is in perfect condition with all the cellophane and stickers in tact! This will not be opened and will not be sold. I made that mistake 9 years ago and paid when buying my collection back over the past two years. Thanks again Empire, it was a huge score!

I agree, it’s pretty good, but like I said it took a while for it to grow on me. ‘Where You Been’ and “Without a Sound” were instant hits to me at the time of their release. Whereas the first single released on “Hand it Over” was ‘Nothin’s Goin’ On’. I remember thinking a big “?” when it came out. It was so different than Without a Sound of anything else J really did. Seems more akin to ‘Take a Run at the Sun’ now that I think about it. I don’t think J’s going back to that style of music any time soon. Anyways, Hand it Over was a little bit of a let down when it came out. Not because it was bad, but because it came out of left field. Great album though, I love love listening to it!

Probably my friend : ) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really like this one! I bought three copies of the UK Vinyl mostly for the artwork. I have a J Mascis print which I think is really cool. Considering dropping some cash for this.

Too cool!
Right on Empire2, although “I don’t wanna go there” and “Almost Ready” aren’t that bad.
I think the video is great. Telling a common tale of suburban life. Sure it’s exaggerated, but I think I’ve seen this happen before more than once.
Love Hybridge’s kid’s question. I thought I was the only one. I had to rewind the first bit to identify who the guy was dropping off the girl, her boyfriend or her dad. The kiss was a bit awkward.
I guess the director is trying to tell Murph to stick to drums by cutting him out. Too bad, I was looking for him too.
August 24, 2012 at 1:39 pm in reply to: Stereogum ranks Dinosaur Jr albums from worst to best #1391851) YLAOM
2) Bug
3) Green Mind
4) Where You Been
5) Dinosaur
6) What Ever’s Cool With Me
7) Without a Sound
8) Hand it Over
9) Beyond
10) FarmWhere You Been is probably my favorite album. Green Mind was the first album I ever owned or theirs in 1991. I put YLAOM and Bug up there out of respect for their place in the catalog of Dinosaurs’ music. They would land 3,4 on my actual favorites, they’re up there! Dinosaur is there in position of respect and would probably rank after Without a Sound for me.
I’m a bit surprised (and happy) to see Farm get so much respect. It’s a good album and “I Don’t Want to go There” is one of my favorites ever, but Farm hasn’t dug into me like that yet. Maybe I should listen to it again. Anyways, I’m happy you all like it enough to rank it 5th all time. I still love the 90’s, though Hand it Over took a while to grow on me….
Dude, you are the man! Those turn out well. Can you post more pics?
Thanks Jeremiah, sounds great!
