Didn’t notice, but the signed pre-order bundle sold out. There were only 200 available. The bundle with the poster will be available unsigned…
It’s really good to hear Murph’s perspective. The band sounds so much tighter these days than they did in the 90’s. I remember seeing them for the first time after the reunion in 2009. I was totally blown away! Couldn’t believe it was the same band from years ago. Of course it’s not, the guys are older and I only saw J play with Murph once in the 90’s. But even J’s sound had improved so much. I know there are guitarist better than him, but he is my favorite guitarist, He inspires me to play the most out of all of them.
The quote about playing to a bunch of dad’s is seriously funny. For some reason you might think that Dinosaur Jr. would attract a bunch of depressed guys and grungy girls, but nothing could be more wrong. There have always been a bunch of real cute girls at every Dinosaur Jr. or J Mascis show I’ve ever been to, serious fans. I’m glad to see youth at the Dinosaur and J Mascis shows, they’re still connecting with people. I’m 12 years younger than Dinosaur, 35, but that’s still on the old side.
Since Murph mentioned YLAOM, I think they should plan a YLAOM in it’s entirety tour like they did for Bug. Think it would be a success? I think it’s a no brainer, it’s every Dinosaur Jr. Fan’s favorite album. In the end we all know we love every last song, but Dino ususally plays for about 1 1/2 : (

That is very cool!
Yeah empire2 I ordered from piccadilly in England. I was surprised they weren’t sold out already.
I’m all in! Brought the Ultimate Fan Bundle from the Dine-O website site, the deluxe pre-order from jagjaguwar and three “Watch the Corners” 7″ just because I thought the album cover was really cool. Might Ebay two of them : )
What about you?
My brain is going on overload. The signed poster by the band has my mind going ‘ding, ding, ding!’. I also want to other singles though…. Good job Dine-o!
Insert the little icon that walks in the door, eye pop and then walks right out…. X_X
Cool interview. Though we’ve heard a lot of this before 1. it never get old 2. there was a new tid bit, “I don’t get that same energy playing wit other people..” too cool.
Life lessons I’ve taken from J are things like his love for hardcore, which I don’t share, but his inability to play that kid of music. It’s so interesting to me that he realizes his limitations and turn to the person her is. I totally take that to heart. The other thing is his laconic introvert demeanor. I don’t know many people like that, he’s one of the few. It seems to have given a sort of bad impression of him, but people have figure out for a while now that its just the way he is don’t take it person. If you see that he actually turns out to be pretty cool. Same with other people around you.
Jeremiah – I preordered on itunes as well. The price made sense. I also preordered the vinyl. I’m assuming “Pond Song” is from the 9:30 Club performance as well.
Dinosaur Jr’s marketing has drastically improved in the past two years. They really are able to put a few things together and sell it to the hardcore fans. I’m enjoying them taking my money! (As long as their putting out cool stuff). I’m anticipating some cool things to come out for “I bet on Sky” We’ll see…
I found my Fender JMJM on craigslist for $650.00, you may want to check there. also offsetguitars.com may have people selling them or fender forums. Just place an add that states that you want to buy. $650.00 is a fair price.

Probably mostly due to the band not coming out with new material in three years, but that’s about to end. Fortunately, we do have this place and interesting things do come up every once in a while. So hang around and enjoy it!
http://freesofree.net/tour.php This link shows every tour date they’ve ever done. From the time you saw them in 1997, they did not tour Iowa until December 11, 2007 when they played at the Picador in Iowa City, but they haven’t been back since you saw them on the 6th.
Glad you got to see them, just wish you had better weather. They need to make it out to Iowa more!
Got mine in yesterday too. It’s pretty sool, but its not getting opened! This is a collectors item. I was there Live so its not like I’m missing anything : ). Enjoy guys and girls!
urlivingalloverme – You’ll have better luck showing up about two hours earlier and looking for them in the rear entrance. I doubt you would be allowed to bring a guitar into the place.
