Great to hear from you Derrick! That show was really one of the best Dino openers or any opening act for that matter. It was really a lot of fun! Thanks a lot, keep rockin and I hope to see you soon!

Great to hear you had a good time! I’m in Maryland. I’ll be at the D.C. show next month. I think the venue in Cooperstown when they’re with Primus might be cool!

April 22, 2015 at 1:07 pm in reply to: New Rocksmith DLC includes Dinosaur Jr's "Feel The Pain" #231122Awesome! Although I just discovered that if I want to play the new Star Wars Battlefront I will have to buy a PS4 as they will not make it for PS3. I imaging Rocksmith will be the same.
I love this song! I’ll try it out and let you know what I think!
I haven’t attempted it, but now that you mention it, it is pretty interesting. Sounds like a wag going on there. Let us know how it goes.
Sorry they’re not coming your way! I picked up tickets to the Black Cat. Still on the fence for a Primus Show. Hopefully, I’ll bite the bullet. Maybe make a vacation week out of it or something.
HAHAHA! It was nice reading about Fuzzt Blast. I didn’t know there was so much “controversy” surrounding it. I’m glad I didn’t pay $100.00 for it. Discogs came around since then.
The first time I saw Dinosaur was the 1993 Lollapalooza tour, when it traveled. Headlining that year was another band I wanted to see greatly, Primus. There were of lot of great bands on that tour. Dino, to me, was the most memorable since I loved them so much. I’m sure they opened up with ‘Little Fury Things” and I didn’t know the song. I had not picked up YLAOM by then. For me it was, ‘Green Mind’, ‘Where You Been’ and ‘Bug’. But by the end of the Summer I would have ‘YLAOM’. Next Summer I caught wind of their first album and picked it up on tape. Ahh, the memories!
Now I get the chance to see these two bands again. I haven’t seen Primus since 1993, when they did their Fall tour. The Melvins opened for them. I don’t know if I’ll go see them. I like the prospect of going to the Black Cat better. I have a feeling they’ll do some kind of 30th anniversary show or something for their original release. They should be doing something for that album. Not to mention, they’re due for another release this year. We’ll see huh?
J sat in with the Roots in 2013. It’s the only time he’s been on Fallon. There used to be clips, but I can’t find them. Most link that write about the event tell what songs where played, but no “Pieces”. http://www.mstarz.com/articles/17175/20130730/j-mascis-of-dinosaur-jr-covers-daft-punk-neil-young-black-sabbath-with-the-roots-on-jimmy-fallon-video.htm
Keep searching though. Dino was always on Letterman. I hope this helps.
I just heard of it yesterday and ordered. I have no idea how many copies. They go through their whole order to send back damaged copies and apparently this shipment had many. It looks like the store is in Maine. Are they like newbury? Maybe, sans the comics.
February 19, 2015 at 12:45 pm in reply to: Signed by J fuzzmunchkin for sale, made by tym guitars. #230986Sorry about your bad experience with J. I think what a lot of fans don’t understand is that J is an extreme introvert and you have to accept somethings and figure out how to talk to him. He’s been pretty cool with me, taking pictures and talking for a little bit. Once I realize I’m as far as I can go I say, “Thanks J, Have a great show!” Take it easy man. It’s nothing against you. J is not much for random walk up chit chat, drop everything and meet the fans and I think that’s ok.
Wish I would’ve seen this a month ago! Thanks for the write up, sounds like a great show. Hopefully you have J’s new album right now. That song was “Drifter”. He uses a guitar that’s in a different tuning. It’s awesome! Have fun with it!
Wow, you actually saw The Experience! Very cool! Something else J Mascis / Jimi related. When J was approached about playing so loud and with a wall of Marshall stacks behind him he said something to the effect of, “It worked for Jimi…”
