Just got this the other day…outstanding!! Gotta love when J is asked to describe himself.."just your basic asshole I guess."
Other stand out bits in the interview include where he talks about doing soundtracks…says they are easier as he doesn’t have to please himself just the director, watch the film and the songs just write themselves…not looking to become soundtrack guy like Danny Elfman just does it when asked. Also states he doesn’t even consider whether he’s viable or not, just wants to keep making music and have people listen to it. Having Same Day and Waistin to check out anytime is pretty damn cool as well. So pick it up if you can, well worth the small amount of cash.Allison
ps Danny Elfman used to be my fav soundtrack guy…not any more.

But. i found a program to record the show..
A program called HyperCam, just search for it on altavista..
its very easy to use..
the sound quality will not be as good as it was.. but its the only way i know about to record this..
please let me know if youre having problems, and ill help you.

Waistin’ some time and found another kinda cool review of More Light. I have never heard J’s vocals described quite that way…interesting. Also if this guy doesn’t know what happened between Dino Jr and this release he just wasn’t paying close enough attention…god. Not sure what to make of the Flaming Lips crap…oh well. Pretty cool review.

there is about 4 pages of text in jappanesse..i tried to get it translated by a prof at my uni. but to no avail….he said that it would have cost me about $40 a page to have it trasnlated….he said it was a brief history of the band, but he could not go into detail..there are three extra songs…Can i tell you stories, Too Hard,(which are on the where’d you go single), and a cover of the armmaggedon song, I’m leaving on a jet plane….amazing

How else is the cd booklet different for that version of More Light?

I have not listened to a lot of Hendrix…probably due to the bluesy bit…definitely not my sound. J always lists Ron Asheton as the primary influence on his sound. Interestingly I saw a show on the Stooges awhile back, they related being heavily influenced by Hendrix. Apparently someone brought a copy of one of his albums to the Stooges home and they all listened to it for days. So I guess in a round about way your right about the influence on J’s sound. I saw the Chili Peppers last year, was amazed at how much the guitar players sounds was similar to Hendrix (the little I know of his sound)…not enuf to make me want to pick up his solo stuff though.

That might be a great trip…drive down to Austin, see J Mascis, Watt, Ron Asheton, Wayne Kramer,….now you’ve planted that seed, i may have to go for it. I toured with the band for 5 shows on the last leg and filmed all the shows…i went from San Francisco, LA, San Diego, …I think i have about 7-8 shows from this tour on video already…
Yes, the Fog are playing lots of Dinosaur material as well as a few Stooges covers in their sets.
They’ve already played the likes of: Alone, Get Me, Just Like Heaven, Wagon, Little Fury Things, The Lung, Freakscene, Severed Lips, Blowin’ It, Raisans and Thumb.
Yes i would have to agree with Jeremiah. Ive been listening to heaps of hand it over and I honestly love it. That song mick is my favourite. It’s just such an emotional song. I think this album is different to the others in a way because J really shows some deep down feelings in it.
